Backyard Discovery Weston All Cedar Wood Playset Swing Set

Got it today and put it together in about 4 hours. All wood is real cedar (smelled wonderful putting it together!), stained, and most of it was crack free. The boards that were cracked were non structural parts so no big deal. The slide was the most difficult part to assemble. Generally, a good budget swingset.This is not a swingset you can get on with your kids. It is truly made for kids and only kids to play on. It isnt flimsy in the least - however the materials are not sturdy enough for an adult to climb on. Teenagers would be too heavy for it. The slide is definitely not made for anyone over like 50 lbs....its literally a piece of plastic sandwiched between two other pieces of plastic and a nightmare to assemble. Would be nice if this was upgraded but it is what it is for the price. However, if you're looking for something low priced for young kids its perfect.Dont expect this to be something your kids will enjoy from 2 to 20...it really is a small set for young ones, but for under 400 bucks I dont think you can beat it.

Excellent play set. It does take a while to out together, but I believe it is well designed. Great customer service. A couple of pieces were missing and a couple were damaged, and all I had to do is register the product on their website and I was able to order the parts without and get them shipped to me at no cost. 100% recommended. I installed a cheap set of LED lights so the kids can play when it's dark and it works great.

Solid quality for the price. Lots of pieces but overall decent instructions and easy build. There was missing hardware (brackets) Which necessitated 2 separate calls to the manufacturer. Good customer service from the manufacturer. Also, some of the screws and nuts were low quality and would strip out very easily. We had to chase the threads on some to make them work.

Very pleased with the build quality and how are the parts are labeled including the hardware. Took me most of the day to get it assembled but everything fit as it should and the wood is very thick where it needs to be. Everything was pre-drilled so did not have one split board. The Bild app is a god send making it idiot proof for a backyard carpenter like myself. I can't believe I got this for less than $500. Awesome quality product could not be more pleased with it. I'm puzzled by some of the negative reviews for this product. You are buying a discount mass produced play set made with real wood. Rational people understand that you will have minor imperfections chips cracks and a slightly misaligned hole here and there. Calling this "fake cedar" what does that even mean. My set certainly smells and looks like cedar what do people think they inject cedar smell into wood? My family and I love this swing set and for the money well worth every penny. Don't hesitate to buy this product proudly made in the USA, awesome instructions, well designed, sturdy construction and looks great in our yard.

There are pros and cons. Pros-looks nice, big slide, lots of fun for kids. Cons-assembly even for a skilled person is difficult because pre drilled holes do not line up, instructions are not clear and is missing key directions. Also, wood is extremely flimsy. Make sure the ground is level and you have 6 ft of free play all around for safety.

It's a lot of work, don't underestimate it but the end result is exactly what we ordered. If you are unsure of your skills then you may want to hire someone to assemble it for you. I am in the construction trade so I had all the tools necessary - and you WILL need all of the recommended tools and I would recomeend having a cordless impact drill/driver in addition to the recommended tools. I had a friend help me - it DEFINITELY takes 2 people, we both had battery powered impacts and drills as well as socket sets and drill bits. Without the right tools installation would probably have not been possible. Instructions are good but pay attention to the pictures and the orientation of the pre-drilled holes. My boys love it and I think the quality is perfect for the price and the amount of years they will play with it. I would definitely recommend and purchase another Backyard Discovery brand playset. Total installation time including beer breaks was about 5 hours and we had crappy weather and had to put a lot of it together in my garage and carry to the backyard. If you are on the fence I would say go for it but like I said it may be a tough install for someone lacking the right tools or experience. - Legit review from Matt Ferg

The 2 by 6” wood is all cracked and I submitted replacement or money back and haven’t heard anything from this company is not sturdy at all I was hoping that it would of been a perfect gift for my son’s bday bud we don’t put him in the swing because is really weak 😡

After reading most of these reviews I was hesitant of buying this playset. But the price was right and it had everything I wanted. I was shocked when I received the package and it was in good condition. When I opened the box it was a little intimidating to see the 10,000 pieces but once I organized it all the build wasn’t bad at all, there was one typo in the manual but it didn’t take too long to figure it out. I built it by myself and it took me a day and a half, I also stained and sealed it, that took the most time. Over all good build, easy to understand, easy to put together. The manual says the weight limit is about 150lbs, by the feel of it I think that’s true, so if you have older kids this is not the one for you.

THis was the best dual bday present we could have gotten for our 3&6 year old boys!! They love it and I hope we can add monkey bars on to it.

Exactly what we were hoping for and quite sturdy! Took about 7 hours with power tools and 2 adults to set up.

It took a friend and I about 4-6 hours to build, but we are getting our money out of it. The kids love it and are playing on this almost every day now.

It’s a great product but it comes with some flaws and some misleading information. The boards are not numbered very well. They are stamped with ink and some of the numbers were not readable. The ladder in the back is way too steep which the photo does not represent.
