It blocks a significant amount of light pollution
It blocks a significant amount of light pollution and increases the contrast of images. I live in a rather light polluted area and have difficulty see stars of 3rd magnitude and dimmer. Don’t know if the filter blocks as much as the more expensive filters for deep sky astrophotography on the market but the Hoya Starscape Light Pollution Filter is good.

WOW!
It actually works! I kind of more-or-less expected just a lightly colored filter, maybe some excuse that could be passed off as this product. It actually works pretty well. I went out to the absolute middle of nowhere and had a Nikon Z7ii with the 50mm f/1.8 prime, I brought this filter with me and it worked.DO NOTE: This will not magically make you a better photographer. That photo you want to take, think about it, you can pull it off without this most likely. That being said, this is a great tool, if you have the cash to put down on this then by all means go for it. I'm not a great astrophotographer, I usually shoot wildlife, I use this as a crutch because it gets me a step further with minimal effort.

A Very Effective Filter at a Great Price
I am an avid amateur astronomer and astro-imager, and typically I am shooting with specialized cameras through telescopes, but for traveling I recently picked up a portable star tracker to guide my DLSR for night sky shots using my "terrestrial" lenses. I mention this because filters are a very big part of what I do and these specialized filters can get very pricey in a hurry, and in this context I added the Hoya 62mm Starscape Light-Pollution to my 105mm lens with limited expectations on what a filter at this low price point would be capable of. I was pleasantly surprised at the excellent results achieved! The attached image of Orion's belt area was taken in a Bortle Class 4 area with this filter combined with multiple image stacking to reduce the noise.

Better than many
An inexpensive alternate for the high dollar ones. Works great!

A positive impact for sure!
Worked very well for me. Used it for astro-imaging and it definitely made a positive difference in my photos. Would probably have rated it 5 stars, but bad weather moved in and have not had an opportunity to test it upon a tracking mount.

Really improves my "backyard" astrophotos
I have begun shotting astro photographs in my backyards. I live in an area that is Bortle Class 5. So, I need all the help I can get to capture the Milky Way and deep sky objects. This filter makes a noticeable improvement in my raw images - but it does not eliminate the need to do lots of work in Photoshop.
