Blue Paua Shell Flexible Enhanced Adhesive Veneer (size: 9.4" x 5.5" ; thickness 0.007")

This is by far the nicest version of this product I have purchased so far. It has a good 3m adhesive black backing, and a plastic coating of some kind over the front of the shell to protect the surface which is definitely not removable. It is not terribly brittle like other uncoated versions of this product. I compared it to some of the others I have purchased from other vendors in photos.The only thing I'm not a fan of is that it is very obvious that the shells are glued in strips about a centimeter wide, and there is no effort to disguise that. This is not how it appears in the advertising photos. However, the product is still beautiful, and the color is accurate. I think that if you have been disappointed by the drawbacks of other shell veneers, you will be happier with this one, even though it's not absolutely perfect, like the ones the photos make you believe exist.I have not yet attempted to cut it, but I do not believe it will shatter and crack the way others do. I'll update after I cut it if I remember to.Also, the clear plastic coating and black adhesive are almost... I guess bulky is the best word I can use to describe it. For my purposes, this is not a drawback, but it's different. I see that these thick coatings are what allows the product to be flexible. The company's packaging is WAY better than others and protects the product, but the coating is so protective it almost doesn't need the superior packaging. Overall, I'd definitely still purchase this product again, rather than from another vendor.

This is an amazingly well done Blue Paua Shell FLEXIBLE Inlay. It truly is flexible, easy to manipulate, can be covered with epoxy or CA or can be left in the natural state. The 3M backing has a strong bond, but is thin enough to manage. I highly recommend this product - Blue Paua Shell Flexible Enhanced Adhesive Veneer (Size: 9.4" x 5.5" ; Thickness 0.007")!!!

Look at the dimensions, it is super small sheet, not a roll!

I'm so glad I took the plunge for this instead of trying to spend half as much because this is so much more useful to me (and it's a lot of surface area, so it's still very reasonable). Other products are not stabilized like this nor professionally, intentionally and uniformly micro-cracked, giving it the ability to conform to curved surfaces. One might think "oh, I'll do that myself" but way, way, way easier said than done. I thought it would just bend along the wide segments visible in the ad. No. It's done far, far smaller than that, and apparently along both axes. But you have to really strain under bright light to detect it (and that's if you know what you're even looking for. Gorgeous. I'd have to add a zero to any product I inlay with whole, thick pieces of shell, but this is easy and economical (yet still real). I can inlay a ring around a cylinder just 1 1/8" diameter by sanding merely ten thousandths deep in minutes and peel and stick. Phenomenal and adds so much value. Always wanted to try this and glad I went with this. Anything like this can take a little experimenting cutting and shaping so don't blame the product if you don't know what you're doing yet. There's plenty here to use up a little to learn with and still have a ton left for good work.

Not what I expected.

Absolutely great product! Makes creating abalone shell pens much faster than the stiff material which has to be cut into thin strips and glued in place.

This is just beautiful and is even more beautiful in person than in the photos. It really helps that there is adhesive on the back which will make it so easy to apply as an inlay. I am very pleased and can't wait to use for a ring I am creating for a client. I will be buying more. Shipping was fast as well!

This is too tiny not a roll at all! I’m returning it because it is outrageously expensive for such a tiny piece of sticker. It’s about 5” x 7” NOT A ROLL as pictured.
