Does what it says
I use this with a Buchner funnel and filter paper to filter my cold brew. It works fairly well, but more suction would be better. Still, a great value for the money 👍👍👍

Died during first use with tested glassware, 3 days out of return window.
Junk. Not value for cost. Suction was a hair above feeble, but did the trick... until it didn't. Seemed to be working fine, motor still hums along- but suction died at some point in the first ten or so minutes of use. Thoroughly disappointed.I paid money for this to save time, and I lost both.

Worked for about an hour
It stopped working after about an hour of use. I didn't expect a lifetime of heavy use for the price, but this thing made a quick trip to the trash.

It actually works
I brought this as a replacement for my Purewick base which stopped working and refuse to suction. After a few modifications with the tubing it did the job. If you need something to help until you can pay the high price replacement then try this. We used electrical tape to hold the tubing in place. So far it works. This is just a temporary fix for right now.

Will not work for .2 micron filtration.
I was trying to filter an alcohol tincture when I noticed not a single drop had fallen into my flask. So I removed the alcohol, and added water to see if that would do anything. Nope, so I removed all liquids and had ONLY the filter membrane... no joke, it couldn't even pull air through the filter.... when this thing runs it gets louder and louder until it has sucked to its max capabilities meaning it's using 100 percent power. Again, this was with only the filter and no liquid and it maxed out... not good for fine filters. Would probably work for much more basic needs.

Works for Purewick replacement pump
Purchased 10 months ago, as a emergency replacement to my wife's Purewick pump. It has run 24/7 since with no issues. It is quiet and produces 3X the suction of the Purewick, but is still in the safe to use range. Fittings included to fit on the Purewick canister lid. I am absolutely gonna buy a couple more for spares. My case is individual, of course, others may have a different experience.
