Perfect fit--has been a lifesaver.
I broke my big toe almost 4 weeks ago, and although I've broken toes before, it was never my big toe. VERY painful! I "buddy taped" it to the next toe, but I was still suffering from severe pain while wearing any type of regular shoe, mostly due to unconsciously raising the tip of my toe and having it press up against the inside of the shoe box. After 10 days of that, I found this shoe on Amazon. I looked at several other ones that were less expensive, but after reading a lot of the reviews on this shoe I felt that this one would meet my needs the best.I wear a woman's 6.5M, but I ordered a medium instead of a small because numerous reviews stated the shoe was too short in length despite ordering the size that corresponded to their regular shoe size (The width of the shoe is completely adjustable due to the Velcro straps.) When I put the shoe on it was obviously too large, as the tip of my big toe was a good inch from the top, and the first strap actually crossed over my toe, causing more pain instead of less. So I then ordered a small, and it fits perfectly! The tip of my big toe is about 1/4" away from the end of the shoe even while wearing a heavy sock, and the strap crosses where it should. Some reviewers complained that the straps were too long, or that the shoe didn't feel secure. The straps are made long intentionally to accommodate a foot that may be very swollen and/or wrapped in thick bandages. I haven't needed to, but I'm sure, like all other Velcro, the ends of the straps can be trimmed to the desired length. When I put the shoe on, I'm careful to make sure the pieces on top of my foot (under the straps) are overlapped properly and laying flat. Then I carefully fasten the Velcro straps so they are snug but not tight. The shoe feels comfortable and sturdy. I have no problem walking in it at all; in fact, I often forget that I have it on. I only wish I had found this shoe the day I broke my toe instead of 10 days later!

Just what I needed for surgery recovery
Broke my 5th metatarsal and had surgery that required me to wear a big boot round the clock. I hated trying to sleep in that thing. As soon as I got my doctors ok, he said I could buy a shoe off Amazon. I read many reviews before deciding on this one. Many brands I looked at had inconsistent sizing which resulted in returns. I wanted to avoid that. Sizing was accurate on this shoe. I wear an 8 and the Medium was the perfect fit. I trimmed down the straps a little for a better fit and didn’t have to mess with them again. This was much lighter and more comfortable for around the house and sleeping for the 3 additional weeks I needed it. I did not wear this outside to keep it clean. If standing for long periods, adding an insole would be beneficial for more cushion. I did accidentally mark up my white woodwork a couple times with the edge of the shoe but it came off with a magic eraser. Overall, it was a good value for the money and made my recovery easier.

Great Support for a Sprained Toe
This post-op recovery shoe was exactly what I needed for my sprained toe. It’s sturdy, comfortable, and keeps my foot protected while walking. The adjustable straps mostly ensure a secure fit, and the design relieves pressure on my injury. Highly recommend for foot injuries.

Game changer
This is the third surgical shoe I tried and while there are parts of it that I'm not fond of, the pros so out weigh the cons because it is miles above other shoes. The key feature is that, unlike other ones that claim it, this one actually has a rocker bottom. You don't notice the difference as much when you're taking a few steps here or there, but if you actually want to walk in it the ability to roll from heel through the foot to the toe makes you actually able to have a real gait. No it won't be as if you were wearing two regular shoes but the pace and lack of wobbling (from uneven legs and one not moving as the other) is such an improvement that people don't tend to notice I have the shoe on. Other shoes that claim to have rocker bottoms genuinely did not, or at least not nearly to this degree. Now the bottom is all hard plastic which makes it a little slippery and scratchy on some surfaces, though I have not slipped at all. Also heaven forbid you get a little bit of dust or gravel on your shoe and you are making scratchy sounds everywhere you go.I bought two of these because I wasn't sure which size and the one was deformed on the sole of the shoe. It's supposed to be completely flat but it had a large bump in it that would render it completely unusable to anyone recovering from a foot injury. I'll assume that was a one-off and didn't remove any stars because of it.It's worth noting it is slightly cushier than other shoes but still firm. Also, because it has a genuine rocker bottom, it is a little taller than other shoes. However it's still not tall enough that I can use the evenup on my other foot even on the lowest setting. I do notice the height difference, but whereas with the other shoes I started getting hip pain in my good leg, with this one, because I can roll off the foot so smoothly, there isn't as much jostling or downward motion onto my good leg so I don't get nearly as much hip pain even though the height difference is slightly greater. The sizing surprised me, I wear a women's size 8, 8 and 1/2 if I need extra width, and my toe goes to the very end of the women's medium. I should be wearing the large, but that's the one that came with a deformity so I went with the medium because my injury is not to my big toe so I did not think there was too much risk. Every other shoe I've tried on I've been a size medium or even small with plenty of room to spare, so these definitely do size smaller than others but per the size chart. But if you're close to the top of the range or in between sizes, definitely size up.

Comfortable with the perfect step.
This shoe is very good and inexpensive. It fits perfect on the injured foot and is easy to slip on and off. I love the sole that has gradual taper to it front and back, making it give you the perfect step.
