Orig equipment bathroom fans are usually bad - they don't move air - they just make noise. This one is fantastic - it really moves air - I can feel a strong draft under the door when it's turned on. This fan is really intended for new construction - doing a retrofit can be tricky - you will need attic access. I have two upstairs bathroom fans that I am replacing with this unit - I allow the fans to vent directly into the attic while ensuring no blockage from insulation - no outside vending - works great!

Great flush mount exhaust fan. Added a remote control!
I needed a powerful exhaust fan in the kitchen and there was no way to install a standard range hood due to a flat roof and the stove in an island. Also no switch was possible without major drywall tear out. I cut in the fan and pulled power from a nearby ceiling light. To operate the fan I used a remote control normally used for a decorative dropped fan light. The hook up was simple, and the remote gave me 3 speeds for the exhaust fan, and it also has Alexia voice control. The optional speeds is great as the high speed on the fan can be quite loud, but it does move a lot of air. We normally find the medium speed sufficient to exhaust the cooking odors. Great fan as well.

LOUD!!
I knew this fan was going to be louder than the one it replaced, but this thing was LOUD! In the end I removed it and returned it, which Amazon graciously accepted back and credited my account without delay. Happy with Amazon's service, but the fan seemed to be grossly unbalanced and vibrated strongly. This may be OK for an unoccupied area, but not for bath or kitchen service.

Quiet and functional
I installed this fan in a 4' x 10' nook that is a part of 12' x 12' bathroom. It is quiet and effective.

Cheaply made
Replacement for kitchen exhaust. Originally attempted to replace only motor but could not match one that ran ccw. This replacement unit has the discharge chute on the opposite side than the old one so some modifications in the wall were necessary. Unit is loud and unbalanced due to the cheap plastic fan. Also, the draft door rattles excessively which I had to remove the motor unit to gain access to the chute to shim door and keep it from vibrating in the housing.

The guts of the fan fit older style nutone
I couldn't find a fan only replacement so i bought the whole kit. Then I couldn't get the old one out of the ceiling. Turns out the fan and one of the brackets was all I needed. I just flipped the bracket upside down and reattached it to the fan then attached the bracket and fan into the old housing. Worked like a charm!
