Is this really for the Garmin Nuvi 295W?
I purchased this to go along with a Nuvi 295W that will be a Christmas gift this year. I was looking for a protective case that would fit the Nuvi 295W tightly with some padding. I decided against theĀ Garmin 3.5-Inch Widescreen Carrying Case , which is the case recommended on Garmin's website, because there was a review saying that the 295W could fall out of it's open end. I thought this case would be better since it zips closed. However, now that I have it, I realize that it is not a perfect fit for the Garmin Nuvi 295W. It is about twice as thick as that unit but the width and height are about right (might be a slightly tight fit width-wise). In fact, if you look up the product number for this case on Garmin's site, you will find that Garmin only lists their Quest and Quest 2 GPS units as "compatible products" for this case, not the Nuvi 295W! So, why has someone at Amazon decided to title the product listing as "Garmin Carrying Case for nuvi 295W Portable GPS"?Depending on how much padding is on the inside of the case and whether you want to put anything else in it with the Nuvi, this could be an OK solution. I can't be sure yet because I haven't opened it due to the fact that it is intended as a gift and the fact that I am considering returning it.UPDATE: I kept the case and the gift recipient is using it. The case IS twice as wide on the inside as the Nuvi 295W but it fits snugly enough in the other dimensions so that it doesn't move around too much. You can either add some additional padding or store something like a couple of microSDHC cards in the case with the Nuvi. The case is not ideal, but I still don't see a better option for a zippered case for the Nuvi 295W.I'm glad to see that Amazon has updated the product description to reflect that this case is originally for the QUEST series.

Fits the Garmin But No Strap
I purchased this case for my Garmin 295W handheld GPS/touchscreen device. It fits like a glove, and protects it when I am not using it. However, the biggest drawback is that it does not have a strap or loop to carry on your belt. I was quite surprised since I believe the 295W is based on the Garmin mobile phone device. Without the case, the device fits in my pants pocket. With the case, it is too bulky to fit in my pants pocket. Without a strap, it could be easier to lose while traveling on foot. I could not easily find (online) another case that would fit, although there probably is another one out there. So I can live with this one until I find something better.

Nice addition to the GPS
I bought this with my Quest 2 GPS and am happy with it . I take my GPS off of my motorcycle when I go into stores gas stations etc and the carrying case keeps me from scuffing the GPS when I put it in and out of my pocket plus it has a bit of padding to protect it as well and looks nice.

Nice way to protect and store
Good price and worth it to protect and store my new GPS unit. Works well for keeping the nuvi 295W and the 2.5mm to 3.5mm headphone adapter together.

Good product great price, quick service.
I bought the Garmin that fits in this and this case. The case arrived one day earlier than stated which was nice, the price was good and the quality was reasonable. Definitely would buy from these people again.

Simple and effective.
I bought my Quest for my motorcycle, but now that I'm traveling quite a bit the Quest has become a necessary companion for rental cars, finding restaurants, gas stations, etc. As such I've found a need to carry the Quest in my computer case. This carrying case does the trick very well - it is very simple - a black leather case and a zipper, but effective at keeping the Quest portable - it fits very snugly around the unit - and offering some cushion protection, especially over the screen. It's high quality - I've had mine for over a year now and it's held up to some regular abuse. I'm able to shove the Quest in my bag and forget about it.I recently ordered the Quest II and bought a second case for it as well.

Carrying case for Garmin QUEST 2 GPS
The case is great! The QUEST 2 unit fits snuggly and appears to be well-protected, but I haven't tried dropping it from any dizzying heights, though!! The reason I didn't score it a 5 is that there is no simple way to hook it to one's belt, as with most cellphone pouches. I don't think to have it swinging freely would be practical, especially if one is out in the bush.Would I buy another case? I don't know. I DO know, though, what I'd be looking for in my research, this time.
