It's a bargain at this price.
I really don't know why everyone expects a Mercedes when they pay for a Hyundai (I'm a Hyundai owner so there is nothing wrong with it, it's just cheaper). You get what you pay for folks! It's really that simple. Also, I don't recommend that you hand a toy to a child without having first tested it and explaining how it works to a child.Ours works exactly as you would (and should) expect. This is not a toddler's toy so do not confuse it with Tonka. The hitch is indeed a bit tricky. You have to bend it over to hitch/unhitch the camper to the vehicle. It IS cheap plastic and not metal. Hard play can break it. You can reinforce it a bit with a brush and some Gorilla glue prior to playing with it though.I actually bought ours for a project (see further below) rather than as a toy but I do have kids and am a very experienced mother. I have a son that could break any toy you could ever throw at him. He's quite qualified in that field. ;)Just remember that — again — you get what you pay for.The vehicle is die cast metal. Its front doors open and the wheels turn. That's pretty much it for its features. The camper is all plastic. The wheels move but there are no other features. The windows and doors are permanently shut. There are no other bells and whistles. If the hitch does break, you can replace it with a paperclip. First unscrew the broken hitch (the screw is on the bottom). Then straighten out the middle and just twist the paperclip to make a loop in the middle. Spread the wires apart at the width of the original hitch's bottom hole and make a 90° bend upwards where it will insert into said bottom hole then another another 90° straight toward the back. Now glue the contact points and you're done! You can even do the same idea to the hitch of the vehicle or even add a hitch to another vehicle. All in all I am very VERY pleased! I bought mine to make an RV themed fairy garden because we live the RV life and thought it resembled ours, but I do plan on painting it. When and especially IF I ever get this project done (I promptly broke my right hand the day it arrived , I had surgery the other day and will need yet another one) I'll post pictures on my review here.If you're looking for a toy that can take a beating, you may want to cough up the money for a more pricey toy. If you instead have children with more careful fingers then you may wish to at least give this one a try.The only reason I give it 4 stars instead of 5 is that the camper's doors/windows do not open. Even plastic can have doors that open. Good luck and I hope this is helpful to someone. :D

Great training aid
I use these for teaching students to drive motorhomes and camping trailers. It was very effective for what I am using it for. It has the pullback and go function which I did not need. I was able to remove it and now it's great.

Don’t buy
Very cheap quality. My 4 year old really wanted something like this and I couldn’t find it anywhere else. It looked cheap here so I was prepared, but it was just so flimsy that I still got a surprise

Not good quality
Made pretty cheap. Not much to play with. If you remove the camper the plastic falls off.

Travel Trailer toy is nice.
Nice scale plastic model. More of a display piece than a child's toy. Light plastic but well made. 1:48 scale.
