Briess BJ-5U8M-8RRM Chocolate Malt 1 lb., Brown

Personally I’ve never used this before but the bread I was making called for it. That being said I wasn’t exactly sure what to expect. Obviously, this can be used in beer making too - but for my use it was in a dark Nordic bread. It came out wonderful. The bread already had a slight sweet flavor- but this lent a lovely nutty slightly sweet flavor as well. Plus it provided a slightly chewy texture to the crumb. Fabulous! If you need this particular grain for your recipe- this one is great.

At least 3 x stronger smoke aroma than I purchased from another supplier! But I could only give it 4 stars for not offering "Milled" option!

We were excited to find this Munich Malt on prime as we mis-calculated what we need for brewing and were short. The product got here quickly, was well packaged and worked perfectly with the other grain we had from our normal brewing supply company.
