Panasonic NN-T945SF 2.2-Cubic-Foot 1250-Watt Microwave Oven with Inverter Technology

For the cost, this microwave is more than acceptable. A couple of little design flaws I'd love to see Panasonic correct, but when you are looking at microwaves in this size, they all seem to have the same issues. My two issues are with the door closing system and the "quick minute" button. None of the ovens in this size have handles. They're all a push button system to open the door and a push until it clicks closing. Not only does this make it impossible to quietly close the door, but that was the system that went bad on my previous microwave and resulted in me having to buy this one as a replacement. Smaller microwaves have handles. I wonder why the bigger ones don't. And on this particular model I am disappointed in the location and size of the "quick minute" button. It's the thing we use most frequently and for whatever reason the manufacturer has made it a very small button compared to some of the others. I'm sure people use that one more often than say, "popcorn" or "keep warm". But otherwise it has all the features I want and I've always been happy with Panasonic products in the past. PS - it amuses me that Amazon asks me to rate it for durability - how can I do that until I've had it for a couple of years?

The inverter defrost works better than regular microwave defrosts. It is large and works well. I have had Panasonic Inverter large Microwaves in the past and liked them all except that they last a few years and then die. Their longevity is not great, but I like the oven, so I purchase them again, figuring a few years for the reasonable price is ok. On this model, they have fixed the problem with the door being too hard to close, and the light appears to be led instead of the old incandescent. Setting the power level is always confusing to me, taking me two tries usually to remember the specific sequence to make it work.

Just got a text & picture of the new Panasonic Luxury Full Size microwave that I purchased as an early Christmas gift for my daughter. She's looked everywhere for a full size microwave & couldn't find anything that came close to meeting her expectations. This is the perfect size for her built in cabinet in her kitchen. It has a large capacity to make it easier to prepare crowd size meals. The wattage is high enough to zap foods quickly, & the best part is how great it looks! I asked if she had looked on Amazon. She said she hadn't even thought to do that. I told her that Amazon is the first place I look. Quality, price & reliable shipping are the three things that keep me coming back.

I purchased this item in 2015. The item has been extremely well maintained both insides as well as outside the unit with low to medium use. The item completely and abruptly stopped working on 4/15/2018. Barely 3 years and the microwave is now sitting out in the ditch with the curbside trash and so that's my reason for the one-star rating. The durability apparently sucks. The door is harsh and loud shutting and the push in button started getting hung up about 1 month prior to the machine completely going out.

We were skeptical about replacing our current Panasonic microwave. However, Panasonic didn't let us down. We are very impressed with the decision and results. Great upgrade to our kitchen appliances.

The door sticks buy something alse

I bought this unit 2 years ago (2012) at the local big box W store because my 10 year old microwave finally died in a puff of smoke and I needed unit the same day.On the positive side this unit looks nice, it's big, it heats well, and the controls are standard and rather normal.For the bad, the LCD has poor contrast and is hard to read from above. The door is cheaply designed and constructed and WILL fail. Even on a good day the door seems to fit poorly.The actual door is ok, but frame is just stamped thin metal and plastic latches are poorly mounted. The latch and electronic interlock are made of plastic and mounted to a flimsy internal bracket that flexes each time the door closes. The screws come loose as the mounting bends. When you close the door harder and it makes it worse. When the latch does not work the microwave does not work. Eventually no matter how hard you slam the door it won't work.Because of the cheap construction the door latch failure will happen to everyone (based on the number of open/close cycles).It can be repaired (but not permanently fixed) by opening the unit, re-aligning the latch bracket, gluing the screws, and fully greasing the latching mechanism. Once this is done it works like new (unit it fails next time). It's a bad cheap design.By matching model number this unit is still for sale today so there is no way to know if they redesigned the latch to fix the problem.

This microwave is large on the inside and sleek and trim on the outside. It fits perfectly on the counter top and works like a dream.
