The illustrations are beautiful, and so is the binding and format.The problem is the stories themselves of "Just So Stories" can be a bit hard to read even for an adult due to words and language used. I felt at times a bit tongue twisted while reading the stories out loud to my kids.Even the names of the characters are at times hard to read.If I can choose between this vs Aesop's fables, I would choose the latter.

This is a good quality hardcover book. It's a good size to gather round for story time. It is beautifully illustrated and each page is decorated on the edge, a different decoration for each story. And it's Kipling, a great introduction to English literature. I'm very happy with my purchase and can't wait to give it to my grandchildren!

Appears to be an unedited or unabridged version (not removing 'colonial' terminology) and it is very nice.

Ideal stories for children from one year - doesn't matter how much you think they understand. They love being read to and learn far more than you think. Start young
