This valve has 1-1/4" acme thread and can only be used with a forklift tank. For a 20lb, vertical steel tank (bbq tank) you would need the PV2004G, https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00EP1TM4U

This valve is a Liquid Propane tank line. If what you require is Liquid and not Vapor off the tank then it works superbly. We use in on one of our Forkslift Fuel Tanks.

Q: does this valve inter change with the 9101P5H valve and what are thread sizes

Hello Deb, this should work fine as a replacement for the 9101P5H, tank side is 3/4" MPT and outlet is 3/8" MPT (has a male 1-1/4" acme connection on the outlet) I can supply the original 9101P5H if you would like that as well.
