there have of course been many films depicting the heroic stand made againstperhaps between four and six thousand of 'Santa Anna's' battle hardened troopsby fewer than two hundred men defending a run down mission/ makeshift fort.most versions have the battle taking place during the day-light hours, myunderstanding is that much of the final assault took place before sun-rise.nearly all the versions I've seen give the impression the defenders of the'Alamo' killed between 1200-1500 or so of the attacking force, some historiansestimate the figure being around 400 ( who knows ? )what is not in question is that the few, knowing death was certain stood forwhat they believed to be right.did 'colonel Travis' draw a line in the sand with his sword ? ..again who knows.those that walked away from the mission including 'Captain Dickinson's'. wifeand 15 month old child along with 'Travis's' slave 'Joe' as well as two orthree other woman and their children who had refused to leave, they would almostcertainly have given their account of the battle they may have seen througha crack in the door they were behind during hostility, remembering also itwas almost certainly dark throughout the two hour battle.there was as this version suggests many skirmishes before the final assaultduring which no man was lost until the thirteenth morning.of course 'Davy Crockett' 'Jim Bowie' and 'William Travis' are the names mostremembered, however there were of course around 178 heroes that stoodalong-side them.this was a made for TV mini-series, I did see it when screened but, until nowcouldn't find available for purchase.this depicts the build up to and including the final events in the great traditionof the legend which is the 'Alamo'the film is in 4:3 screen presentation with below-par picture quality in truth.( guess we've kinda got used to watching HD quality on Blu-ray )doesn't matter how often or how many different versions I have watched down theyears......one thing remains relevant............it's a terrific story ofcourage.the stuff of myths and legend indeed.

I would definatley recamend the film 13 days to glory a true story about 189 people who bravely defended THE ALAMO in San Antonio Texas 1836 all defenders died against 4000 Mexicans but you must always remember what they said when the Mexican Army was caught up with and that is what The Americans said REMEMBER THE ALAMO . An enjoyable account about the last stand of the Alamo defenders against the Mexican army. The history is a little distorted to say the least, but we want a film of heroes and bad guys. To be fair, the Mexicans are portrayed in a bad light. But hey, I liked the film.

Could not watch,made mistake ordering it.

Good film despite being more fiction than historic

it was actually made for tv but its very good the battle scenes are from other films but its quite good and enjoyable,

Tal como decia, no esta John Wayne pero el nivel de los actores principales, dirección, ambientación, ... realmente espectacular. Raul Julià como el general Santa Ana mucho mejor que el classico de Wayne. Muy recomendable, y su larga duración ni se nota, cada minuto es una gozada.

This is the most accurate version of the events of the Battle of the Alamo. A TV Miniseries can go into far more detail than a feature film and this show is very detailed down to the finest historic points of interest. I have done extensive research on this event and this movie does not overly embellish the facts that were gleaned from several recorded "eye witness" accounts. Without being "too Hollywood" the interesting and tragic story is presented intelligently with a minimum of historical "docudrama" inaccuracies. We are given a chance to feel along with these heroes their final moments. Although we can only speculate the words that were spoken, this film presents a truly moving tribute to these brave, doomed men.

It is in perfect condition. I had the other 2 versions of the Alamo already and I got this so that way I could have all 3 versions of it.

Muy bien y ampliamente narrada. Excelentes actores. Además se utilizaron, creo, exteriores de "El Álamo" de John Wayne. Y por una vez el doblaje es espléndido.
