Panasonic SD-YR2500 Bread Maker with Gluten Free Mode and Yeast / Raisin / Nut Dispenser, Black

I love it and have been using it for about one month. I had a bread machine many years ago but wasn't thrilled with taste and it ended up at Goodwill. A friend recommended Panasonic and I decided to take a chance. I wanted a bread machine specifically to set at night for bread in the morning. It's super easy to use and the bread comes out bakery quality. I use the recipes that come with the machine and very straight forward. The French bread is one of our favorites. The medium loaf is enough for family of three with bread for toast the next day. I have not tried xl size yet but think only for large gatherings. When I make raisin bread, I toss the raisins in a bit of flour to make them less sticky. Automatic dispensers for add-ins and yeast work very well. I prefer dark crust setting for crispy crust - not too dark.

I used Panasonic products back in Europe so when I moved to the US I thought that my friendship with this bran will continue. Unfortunately I must say that I was very disappointed with the quality of this Bread Maker. Finally it got broken and customer support provided the only address it can be sent in Texas. For a company like Panasonic, this is huge fail.So if you are a lucky customer who lives in Texas you can buy Panasonic, if you're not be ready to pay for the shipping and packaging.Customer Support. The closed the chat window when I asked why I have to pay. Probably it was easier :-) No question if I need anything else.Good bye Panasonic

There is a limited 1-year warranty on this item. I live in Memphis, TN and will have to send this to a facility in Florida. The buttons to set the menu began to malfunction last week (I bought this on September 2, 2019 through Amazon). Until then it had worked perfectly and now we are addicted to fresh bread! Here is the response I received from Panasonic Customer Service:I understand. It seems like the unit will require service. You will need to ship the whole unit to our service center. Please be aware that you would have to cover the cost of shipping the unit to the facility. For this reason, I have increased them from 1 star to 3. I asked if I took the lesser model if they would give me a 1 year warranty instead of pro-rating (since if I pro-rated and it only lasted another 6 months I was out of luck-if I took the refund I could at least get another 1 year warranty). They did accommodate that request and I took the lesser model. We didn't discuss color-I mistakenly assumed they would match my existing grey but it was replaced with a white one-which sticks out like a sore thumb in my stainless steel kitchen. I considered buying another brand, but we are in the middle of the pandemic and I do love having fresh bread. I already have learned the basics of this machine and so far so good (fingers crossed.)

It's easy to fill and use and clean. More importantly, it does not leave behind any major residues. Get the right kind of yeast that leavens the bread. Else, it will be a bit hard.I should say it's also worth every bit of the money.

This Bread Machine meets the expectation you would have for a Panasonic branded item. It is well built and consistent if you follow the recipe instructions carefully. There is not much latitude however for making changes.I have made there 3 types of breads:- Jalapeno cheddar. The cheddar on top should be added towards the end of the backing cycle.- Plain. Don't go higher than 20-30% whole wheat. That is one limitation why I give it 4 stars.- Banana chocolate ship. I suggest adding the chocolate chips at the end of the kneading cycle.It has only one paddle, while others in this price range may have two paddles. The key is to get the right consistency so it mixes with all the flour at the bottom. FYI - Adding yeast consistently gave good results with more airy/fluffy bread.Separating the paddle from the newly baked loaf is easy. It normally stays in the machine when pulling out the bread, or it easily comes out should you have to go in and get it.

It is not people friendly whatsoever. It wasn't able to process breads in accordance with its instructions; tried everything and every product of mixed flours and the machine did not create the desired breads

If you want make XL bread and select manual 1,you should use1 1⁄4tsp yeast.The guide tell you just 3/4,it's wrong!IThe manual of the Panasonic-SDRD250 is perfect,Panasonic SD-YR2500 can use the manual of SDRD250.I reduce a star for the manual.
