Q: I'm confused. If its wireless, why does it need an electrical circuit?

The unit sends signals over your existing house wiring. The power to run the unit is provided by your home electrical system. It is only wireless in that no additional wires to connect the units are required.

Q: Can you push the call button to reach all the units? Or do you need to press a number first? My health requires I push just one to reach all units.

All the receiving units have to be on the same number to receive your call from the sending unit. They then can respond back to you in the same manner.
