I purchased this to help me getting in and out of my walk-in bath which has a belt seat. It is superb and gives me all the help I need, with the grab bar easy to position exactly where I want it. Assembly instructions were easy to understand and follow and I had it unpacked and set up within 30 minutes of arrival. I laid it flat on the floor in my living room to assemble and then moved it to my bathroom, where I tied it to the radiator to support it , whilst adjusting the height. I am nearly 80 and only 5 feet tall!Just a word of warning, it is very heavy, so it might be safer to have a young or strong person to set it up, to avoid any mishap. It is a very sturdy, well-made product that even came with a spanner to adjust the height. The ceiling support has excellent pads to protect your decor and is very stable in position. A further advantage is that i could be moved to a different location without any damage to floor or ceiling.

My wife has mobility difficulties and uses crutches to get about. We needed something for her to hold on to as she got out of the shower. After some research I settled on this pole.I was a little concerned at first how stable and secure it would be, but I needn't have worried. It was easy to set up and when I pulled firmly on it, it didn't move at all. It is possible to screw to the ceiling and floor, but I found in my case that wasn't necessary.

Really good quality and very use to install, can be fitted anywhere with easy to follow instruction. It's made a great difference to may Dads mobility.

Perfect for our need. My 90 year old mother, resistant to using most aides, has taken to this and feels safe. Easy to put in place, tool provided ... suggest 2 of you and a spirit level.

I fitted this on my own and it was fairly straight forward but it is quite heavy so assistance could be required. It is solid and secure once fitted. I had to cut away some of the side panel of our old fashioned bath as I needed to get the base plate close to the bath tub. Do a test run before you screw the round base plate into the floor. The pole has only a slot at the bottom which fits over a metal bar in the base plate so can't be rotated after the base plate is secured. I didn't do a test run and by the time I assembled everything and tried to rotate the top to line up straight, I couldn't because there was only one hole for the top kingpin and it placed the top bar diagonally whilst the baseplate screw holes were straight across. I had to take it all down and screw the base plate in again with the holes at the same diagonal. All good though.

Got this for my 88 year old dad as he needs help getting in and out of shower - works really well. He’s a lot more confident and it’s also in a good position to grab when he gets up from the loo. Very pleased. With things like this it gives him the support he needs to stay at home. Brilliant - thanks.

Ideal for customer

The product feels sturdy, but they should have put the height adjustment screw at the bottom like the NHS ones. Because it is the middle and only has a thin loose plastic sheath that covers it, the natural place to initially hold the pole is in the middle where the lose sheath is. This is very poor and has made my 97 year old father question how safe it is. I think we will use white gaffer tape to hold it in place.
