UE MINI BOOM Wireless Bluetooth Speaker - Red (Renewed)

Extremely Disappointed. Not at the Mini boom design or capabilities of this little player but at the Certified Refurbished. I have owned a few Mini Booms and I absolutely love them. Solid reliable little players,that have a great sound and loudness. I bought the FIRST one new and used it so frequently that after a few years we thought we would just replace it with two REFURBISHED ones so that we can link all of them together. Well...we got what we paid for. Battery lasts an hour tops on the refurbished ones and we have only had them for a few months, as well as they randomly shut of and you have to reboot it. The one we bought years ago is now our go to player because the new ones blow. The worst part is I can't return them. So upset at myself for buying two REFURBISHED players, should have just bought a new one or upgraded to the Boom.Lesson Learned. Don't make my mistake

Items (I bought 2) arrived in bubble wrap with instructions and a micro USB cable for charging. I suppose the packaging point is important to know if you intend to give this as a present, as I did. No fancy package in case that matters. It didn't to me. The speakers themselves looked brand new and the sound is truly fantastic for such small things. When people hear these things they comment on how good the music sounds, look around for bookshelf speakers and then can't believe such amazing sound is coming from these little units. No distortion at any volume. Crystal clear vocals and treble in general. Base is impressive. I honestly don't get it. As others have said, placing the unit with the back near a wall enhances the base. Easily fills a room with plenty of sound. Perfect for small gathering but probably not a raucous party. I'm not an audiophile and have no interest in debating the subtle differences between the 8 gazillion small speaker options out there. If you want an impressive, ultra portable bluetooth speaker for less that $50, these are astonishingly good. Bluetooth works well though I still tend to use the 3.5 aux in cable instead. I don't know how anyone could be disappointed with these.

I use this mostly with my ipod . Great little speaker , i can turn it up loud and it sounds great. Does not have great treble,, so as a inadvertent result does not burst your ear drum with high pitched squeals like cheapo 20 dollar blue tooth speakers do. Naturally has great bass at higher volume levels,ok at lower. With a EQ program on my ipod,( 2 bucks, won't advertise the one i got) i can increase the treble and modulate the mids, and sounds perfect. I can blast out at work for a full 3 hours at the highest volume before it dies. Overall very nice balance of power and sound quality. Simple and easy to pair, no issues there.

Bluetooth pairs easily and audio sounds great on both iOS and Android devices. I like that you can pair multiple devices to it! The sound is surprisingly loud and decently balanced, like any Logitech audio product. My car doesn't have a good head end unit, or good speakers, or Bluetooth, so I've been using this little thing for road trips - it fills the car with loud sound quite nicely. I'm a big fan of the microphone, which picks up my voice clearly even while driving in a noisy car. The automatic power-off is a little too aggressive for me, I wish there were a way to customize the amount of time before it shuts down. All in all, I'm very happy!

Bought this because I had a coworker who had one, and it's exactly what I expected. Nice and loud, and extremely durable. I've been using it for over a year in a pizza kitchen, so it gets cornmeal and sauce on it regularly, but it wipes right off and hasn't effected the sound at all. I'm surprised at the durability for being refurbished!

In a highly competitive world of bluetooth speakers, these ones are great. Being able to pair them up for stereo listening (and even more volume...) is a nice feature, even if it requires a dedicated app. I love the very limited user interface comprised of 3 big buttons on top, with texture so you can feel your way to the right ones. + for volume up, - for volume down, and (bluetooth logo) for pairing and such. There is an indicator LED near the power switch to let you know the speaker is on or charging/fully charged.I got this speaker as a gift after having previously received a UE Mini Boom myself as a gift a year prior. For my own, I was excited because it was water proof/resistant and I got it just prior to leaving on vacation to Thailand. I can personally vouch for its resistance to water because my speaker came with me in a mesh pocket to Songkran, Thailand's annual water festival and *the world's biggest waterfight*. It blasted tunes longer than my phone could hold out (my estimate is 10-15 hours between charges, subjectively) while I was sprayed, squirted, doused, with water. It passed the ultimate test and continues to rock to this day.

Tiny but packs a punch. I walked my dog last night and the wife turned this little guy up and I could easily hear it and words being sung over 100 yards away. wow. Like others said though it lacks a bit on the high end but oh well, you can't have everything for 35 bucks. Don't hesitate if you're on the fence. Sealing the deal is the 3.5 mm jack meaning I can use my old school ipod with it.

Update: didn't use it much till now, it's not the same as the new one I bought. I'm so disappointed I love UE speakers, I really trusted refurbished would be legit. The sound quality is muddy.I still want to put it side by side next to one that isn't refurbished but haven't gotten around to it. This is the 2 one I've bought.
