Q: I have never used a loom before but if i buy this for my daughter could she make a blanket with this size loom? I crochet or knit, never used loom.

You could probably make multiple pieces and see together to make a blanket kind of like someone crocheting granny squares to sew together for a blanket

The bar that appears at the top in the main image is adjustable (it can go down about half-way) and so are the end dowels (there's another place you can put them in the middle). So, basically, you could potentially make something a quarter of the size (more or less) of what you're seeing in the main image.

Q: Is this loom only 6" wide, as the detail states it is?

That must be a typo. It's closer to 16" wide.
