Works like the much more expensive set
This is a great set for the DIY'er. Comes with everything you need to be able to measure, fill, and bleed your A/C system. Comes in a great storage case that holds everything, and instructions on how to properly use it.

Good
It works good. The only thing i noticed is there isnt a purge valve.

Pay attention to how the valves operate (clockwise or counter to open/close).
I have 2 cars (2004 Jetta, 2007 Camry) that the AC was getting very weak on (I live in Texas, so its nice to have AC that throws very cold air). I bought this gauge set to have something to see if the charge looked low and to make a more accurate decision of how much to add. A garage that is set up to service your AC system will use a vacuum pump to evacuate it completely, they will then put in exactly the recommended amount for that specific car (this method is more accurate, but it also costs more to do). The 2 valves for the high & low side quick disconnect fittings work the opposite way that standard valves do (Counterclockwise to close, clockwise to open). I looked at the 4 valve handles on the manifold valves & assumed that they all operated the same way. Overall, I was very glad that I could get both AC systems running good for the price of this gauge set & 2 cans of R134a.

Basic, but does the job
For about $40 I found the pressure(s) in my house AC was exactly what it should be, not less than half as my HVAC told me. Seems I may not need a new unit after all.

Nice tool
Worked for my R134a car and for a friend's R22 home air conditioner. Seems to be very accurate and the connectors had absolutely no leaks. Good set of adapters. That's what's needed for an air conditioner job. Recommend.

Good value for the money.
I was hoping this would work as well as the standard Yellow Jacket brand that HVAC technicians use. I am a homeowner, not an HVAC tech, needing to recharge my central air conditioner myself because of the shortage of HVAC techs available these days, long lead times to get service, and high prices. I was not disappointed in this manifold gauge set. In fact, I had put it away for a few of days with some liquid refrigerant locked into it, which I only noticed in the little view window after pulling the gauge set back out. The thing that occurred to me is that the refrigerant had not leaked out over all that time. The thing that I think that this kit is missing is a set of inline ball valves or thumbscrew core depressor valves. Without those, you lose all the refrigerant in the hoses when you disconnect, and disconnecting the fluid line is more messy. The kit is not advertised as having these, but I'm just pointing it out.

High and Low side of gauge don't work
Air will pass through the vacuum port and the charge port and into the gauge and between each other but opening the left and right high and low control knobs does not actually open the valve so that anything can pass into the lines leading to the car making this gauge worthless. Mine was not screwed all the way in and was just barely screwed on when I pulled it out of the box. If I hadn't of noticed it probably would have fell off while it was hanging on the car hood. The gauge seems like an ok set and the knobs felt solid. If it would have just worked. Maybe poor quality control or no quality control along with my bad luck. We will see with the next one.
