Is the nail polish non toxic?

The nail polish is nontoxic and is 5-Free, which means it contains no formaldehyde, toluene, dibutyl phthalate (DBP), formaldehyde resin, or camphor for healthy nail care. Safety is a core value of the Magique brand. The active bitter ingredient, Denatonium Benzoate, has been proven safe for children and pets.

Will this last longer than 2 days? How do you get it off if you don't want it on?

Typically, yes, the bitter flavor lasts longer than 2 days. But, it really depends on how one uses his/her hands and the sensitivity to the bitterness for the person. For example, a person who uses their hands in a manual manor versus an office job will wear down the bitter taste more quickly. We have reports from customers that the bitter effectiveness ranges from 1 day to as long as a week or more. As for removing the polish, use standard nail polish remover followed by soap and water.

Can this be used on any age children, and can it be put on a pacifier?

Yes. Bitter taste response has been shown in infants at birth. However, we do not recommend using the product on children under 3 or while still bottle feeding.We do not recommend putting the nail polish on a pacifier, since it has not been tested for that use.

Does the bitter flavor get into food or elsewhere while on hands?

Accidental bitter flavor transfer can happen, especially for those who eat with their hands or prepare food for others. During the treatment period, I recommend using latex finger cots, latex gloves, or polyethylene food handling general purpose gloves to protect from accidental transfer. While it may be inconvenient to wear hand protection all the time, if you can use one of these protection strategies frequently, you might be able to get through the critical habit breaking period and finally stop nail biting. It worked for me!
