Why did you pick this product vs others?:This blade cuts super close BUT the edge is so sharp it leaves cuts all over my head.

Excellent!
They really do work great, they are adjusted to a zero gap correctly and they cut awesome. However, you MUST OIL! If you don't they won't work(I cannot stress this enough, OIL!!) I used PB blaster, And they cut just fabulous, much better than factory blades.Notice: if you have problems with this set of blades then it's your fault, And you're just not that handy with a screwdriver and/or didn't use any oil.
