Wrong evaluation by others.
We first bought this same shoe horn in Japan over fifty years ago. We still use it today and bought three more to use around the house and also we wanted to give one to a friend. Others have complained that the spoon bent. This is actually funny because it has a spring near the head to allow a user to move the handle without moving the blade. Other somehow couldn't discern that it wasn't the head that bent but the spring mount

Really poor quality
I can't rate as a 0. This really is a POS. It is lightweight, the shoehorn part does not fit the heel well and is awkward to slip foot into shoe. After a week, the shaft separated from the handle. It appears it was assembled with a small dollop of silicone.

Useful tool!
I ordered this extended shoehorn for my mom after her 2nd hip replacement surgery so she would be able to get her shoes on by herself. At the rehab center, they taught her how to do things alone but she needed the tool at home to be able to do it. My mom actually got home before the shoehorn arrived so I was going over there to get her shoes on everyday. Shipping could have been a little more prompt. Guess they were backordered or something.

I works quite well.
I have seen some reviews where the users complain of breaking. They must be very rough on it. It works perfectly and I have no problems. Don't shove the poor thing down so far into the shoe. Be gentle. With proper treatment I Have never broken one. I have had my first one of the style for years. Needed an extra one because we bought a place with more outside doors.

Dead soft sheet metal does not a shoehorn make
This shoehorn bent about 30 degrees across its length on first use, rendering it useless as a shoehorn. Once it was bent, I noticed that the sheet metal that makes up the bottom portion (the part that goes into your shoe) is dead soft. I could bend it to and fro with my bare hands. It was nowhere near strong enough to work as a shoehorn.By comparison, an old regular-length shoehorn that I had been using is made of much thinner sheet metal that appears hardened and is strong enough to resist bending from use.

Great Ergonomics for this Shoehorn
When I was much younger, my dad had an extended shoehorn, and loved it--he recommended that I get one as well. At the time, I felt it was for people who had a hard time bending over to put on their shoes. I never thought about the use of a shoehorn to protect the Heelcap and Topline of the shoe, as well as making sure my socks did not wrinkle onto my Achilles heel area. I never put together that my blisters in the achilles area from my extended walks were due to sloppy foot insertions! After buying this extended shoehorn, I can much more easily slip into my shoes without puckering my socks, and do less damage to my shoes' Topline. This particular extended metal shoehorn has a spring connector, making it more comfortable to insert my foot into the shoe without having to manipulate the shoehorn around, and risking breakage or bending of the joint between the shoehorn and extender rod..

Surprised About The Flexible Spring in the Handle
I needed a long handle shoe horn, not made of plastic. This looked like it would fit the bill, but was surprised it had a flexible spring in the handle near the horn. Thought I would try it, maybe some engineer thought this would be a good feature. It's not. I actually need a solid handle to support the horn while putting the shoe on. It's too flexible and the horn part could be wider or curved better, as well. So for me, I'll keep looking.

Excellent Shoehorn!
This shoehorn works very well if you are unable to bend down and put on your shoes. I like the fact that the metal part that goes into the shoe is slender. It may not work for everyone, especially if you have a big foot, but it is fine for an average shoe size. The handle is long and that is helpful if you are a bit petite.
