Frieda Mcfadden is the pied piper of story telling.
This is a book I could not put down, from start to finish. As good as The House Maid was, this in my opinion was even better.I have this in my top 3,of all the fantastic collection of books,Frieda has written.A thriller that Alfred Hithcock would have been proud of.Frieda I love you, for bringing back the golden age of thrillers,Boris Karloff,Alfred Hitchcock and the great Vicent Price movies. She is now my favorite author of all time and that is saying a lot.I Have bought all 26 of her books and have only 7 left to read, now that is scary. Jeff

Good read
4.5-there were similar elements to other books regarding the main plot in this book. I really thought I knew where it was going, but I was pleasantly surprised. There were a few twists that I enjoyed. The main character was pretty developed and not naïve as I thought that she would be. I used a 4.5 because I prefer more POV‘s and past/ present timelines. Highly recommend.

FULL OF TWISTS, TURNS AND SUSPENSE. READ IT IN 3 NIGHTS. GREAT CHARACTERS TOO.
I'm new to Freida's books but so far she has amazed me with her crafty plot twists and suspenseful books. I can't figure them out while I'm reading them, and usually can. The characters are wonderful and the books keep me on my toes through the entire book. There are no boring chapters. Do you know that in real life she is a doctor that deals with brain problems. She says it helps her when writing because she knows the medical terminology and how that community works. She always pleases. This was one of my favorites so far. It has a surprise ending that you didn't see coming. I read it in 3 nights. Love Freida's books!!!

The Wife Upstairs
Freida McFadden proves again why she is my favorite author. This time around she does it with a strong, independent woman. If this is your thing, then you are going to love the twists and turns we've come to expect from Ms.McFadden. I'm so fan-girling, I enjoy her that well and this did not disappoint. The wife, Victoria, lives upstairs with her husband, Adam, who is responsible for her total care after a fall down the steps. Adam hires Sylvia to come to Long Island to care for Victoria and hopefully him as well. Victoria wants Sylvia to know the person she was before Sylvia arrived and the mysteries the house holds. What starts as an amazing charmed life for Victoria had turned into a serious power struggle. Was it Adam's fault? Was it Victoria's? Could the maid help Sylvia for the pieces together? Could Sylvia find the pieces when Victoria's brain injury leaves her words slurred? Could she trust Victoria or Adam, or anyone? What about her own struggles that she wants to forget? How will living so far out affect her and the ones she left behind? It's great to find all the truths behind these mysteries as you want to keep reading all night!

Poorly written, decent plot
The plot was decent enough for me to finish the book out of curiosity, but I did a lot of skimming and skipping to get there. A lot of parts felt like a 16 year old girl wrote them. A lot of parts felt like the author needed you to just accept the improbability of the situation and move on, pretending like it didn’t matter. Overall, poorly written in my opinion but decent plot.

Enjoyed. Easy Read. typical McFadden.
Enjoyed this...would have read it in one sitting but life gets in the way...I got a little irritated at the main character. I found myself yelling at her a couple times. How can you not see!!!???There is a point in the story where you feel a bit of whiplash...Is it going this way....OMG...no it's going that way! I would say I enjoyed this. Not a top 5 but top 10 of my favorite McFadden books.

Page Turner
The twists were classic Freida, and I loved everyone of them. Left me with some unanswered questions. Could be triggering for someone in a narcissistic relationship. If put this in the top 5 Freida books.
