American Valve P200U-40 3/4" PVC True Union Ball Valve Socket Ends, 3/4-Inch

Built a very elaborate watering system for my neighbor's garden all out of PVC. Ended up with 3 different zones so that the water pressure would be high enough for the system to work. Anyway, needed to be able to turn off 2 zones so that water would flow to just 1 at a time and wanted this style valves so that if we decided to change something in the future of one of the valves failed we would not have to cut any PVC. Had these running all this year and still good to go. Might remove them for the winter since its so easy to do and get more life out of them. In my opinion these are the only way to go. If they ever fail or you decide to reconfigure the plumbing they are a part of you simply take them off and within minutes replace or reconfigure them.

I bought 3 of these to replace pool valves which had deteriorated. I had to cut the old ones off the pipe as the builder did not leave me enough space. I bought these because the handle was replaceable and because I could replace the ball valve easily if I ever needed to without having to do plumbing work. I bought three extra ball valves as spares just in case they don't make these 15 years from now. My old valves had replaceable handles but I could not find those and I put serious effort into it. I decided to fix once and for all and am happy with the product.

My pool pump is not leaking anymore. One of my valves broke off and cracked in the winter and had to be replaced.

I ordered this valve and when it arrived it was dirty, dinged on the inside where it goes together, and missing one of the orings. So I returned it and Amazon sent me a "new" one. The attached photos are from the new valve, which is also dinged up, dirty, and missing one of the two required orings (one per side of the valve). However, even with the orings in place I can't get the valve to be leak free, and I suspect it is because the face that presses against the oring is not smooth. If I can't get it to stop leaking I'll order one from another source and return this one too.I have probably installed a dozen or more of these types of valves and never had a problem with them before, and never had one missing an oring!

Perfect. Don't buy it at Grainger where they charge 3x as much for the exact same part. I only wish it had a blue or black handle...red makes me think it's hot water going through.

I bought several of these to plumb my large aquarium. You will want these over the really cheap valves because these true union ball valves are easy to open and close. I noticed that on the really cheap valves I felt like I was going to break the valve every time I tried to open or close it. These open and close with little effort and require the same amount of pressure every time. This is one of the best valves for the money.

The product is clearly supposed to include socket connections for both ends, and cannot be used without those pieces. However, I received the product with socket connections for only one end. When I complained, I was allowed to send it back and received a replacement valve ... which also had socket connections for only one end. The product is not usable without the missing parts.
