Love the new & improved!
I loved the better-for-you nutrition of the original Sourmelon bites, but found them quite hard to chew and would constantly stick to my teeth. The new formula though. Wow. Just wow. Sooo good! I bought a pack of the sour patch kids watermelon candy the other week because the Smart Sweets were out of stock at my local store. Going from regular candy to the Smart Sweets New & Improved Sourmelon Bites was a pleasant surprise! The comparison is pretty spot on to regular sour watermelon gummies, if not better! More sour than before, texture is gummy, but not sticky like the previous version and still better-for-you than regular candy. The nutritional values changed from the original version—lost 6g of fiber and gained 30 more calories per serving. However, I think it was an excellent trade for a MUCH better product.Cannot say enough good things about them!!

Great tasting little fish; they do taste a bit more like red licorice, but it's a great flavor
My wife even likes these fish and she doesn't normally like that sort of gummy. She usually likes the tart gummies, like Smart Sweets bears. We've tried a bunch of the Smart Sweets gummies, they all have their benefits and the gummy fish are a nice twist. I think they taste a little more like I recall red licorice to, but whatever it is, it's a fruity, cherry-punch like flavor that is very pleasant and has no aftertaste.I'm shocked anyone is still eating sugar nowadays. These types of candies don't bother my gut (like the older fake-sweeteners did) and they have great flavor and texture. I don't even miss "real" candy anymore, and my teeth certainly thank me, as well!

New recipe change is awful & a dealbreaker at the same high price
I used to LOVE these. I would eat them all day long and they’ve been helping me kick habits of eating heavy sugar gas station type snacks. UNFORTUNATELY, they just changed the recipe. Not only are they now less healthy, especially for keto diets, but most importantly the taste and consistency is FAR WORSE. It’s changed so much that I have no plans on ever buying these again. I shared a few of these new ones with friends and family who also love the original recipe and they completely agreed that this is a huge downgrade. I don’t know why they made this change but it’s disheartening because I truly enjoyed having a healthy snack that was helping me build a healthier lifestyle. Now I have to look elsewhere unless they change it back. Even though these are super expensive for the quantity you receive in each bag, it was worth it for me. Now I wouldn’t eat these if they were free. The bright pink fish on the left is the new one, the right is the original. The new ones have a chalky consistency, taste somewhat medicinal, break up almost like bread in our mouth and lack the smooth feeling of the original recipe. Very upset. I called around to 15 GNC locations looking for any of the last of these original recipe packs and every single one is sold out (which is standard) because they are so popular. Why they would change the recipe so drastically is beyond me. Now I’m just hoping a different company sees the opportunity to enter the market (the high price point alone leaves an opening for competition). Hopefully though there will be enough complaints and a drop in sales that this company will change the recipe back. I was very proud to support them and the ambitious female founder - just hope I’m not alone in thinking the new ones are a massive downgrade and dealbreaker.

Great taste and texture.
Very good flavor and texture. But too spendy to buy all the time.

My glycemic level really likes it.
This candy is great for a sweet tooth, if you don't want all the sugar. You don't get much in the packaging. price is a little to high.

Okay product
While I love sour candy, this was barely sour. They constantly stuck together and didn’t have enough flavor. Would’ve loved if they were more sour, had more flavor and didn’t stick together like glue.

Absolutely satisfies sour candy crave with a mild tang
It's unfortunate the reviews you see the most on top are negative ones. Almost turned me away but I said let me take a shot. When you're dieting you don't expect everything diet to be exactly like the sugary stuff. But you also don't want to eat anything nasty, way off, or with a weird aftertaste. This watermelon candy definitely hits the crave perfectly. It's not extremely sour but does have a delightful sour kick. The texture was gummy like you'd expect. It has a very slight sticky texture but does not get lost stuck in your teeth like someone made it sound. To describe the texture, it's like swedish fish, not like gummy bears. Which was perfectly fine with me.Unlike most candies which can be addictive enough to go to town on a bag, these were satisfying eating just a few every so often.

Smart Sweets Fish Candy
I was attracted to this candy because it was using natural sugars, but I did Not care for the taste of this item. Also, It was waaay overpriced and tasted odd. Meaning, that it didn’t taste like the original Swedish fish like we got as kids. It had an odd taste in the beginning of chewing, then it kinda tasted sorta sweet at the middle and end, but not close enough to be similar to Swedish fish candy. And Swedish fish did not have a myriad of flavors in one candy; It was just very sweet from sugar. I felt like the little girl in the Willy Wonka Candy factory story, where she tasted all these flavors in the gum, and later turned her into a blueberry. Lol Please Also Note: I thought a family member opened the box cause the seal was broken and one (1) of the (6)packages was missing. But by that time I had taken a package and eaten some, not knowing the seal had been broken. I was upset by the fact that it was tampered with and that I actually ate it, not knowing this fact. However, this actually had nothing to do with my review of its taste. I would Not buy it again especially at that price (I think it was around $14). Sorry, but it’s back to the drawing board for the makers of this candy. Nice try though.
