Nice hardware, software is a mess
I got this board as a test platform for a library we're developing for a client. We were interested in the Cortex M4F chip this uses, and the accelerometer in the BOOST-XL sensors kit. Texas Instruments offers a bunch of outdated software that is no longer compatible with the supposedly premier IDE for embedded Arm: Keil uVision. Keil is not that good, but somehow TI's support for this board is worse. What little progress I've made writing software for this board has been with GCC on Unix. If you're not a professional software or hardware developer, sadly this cool board probably isn't for you.

It works.
Functional and well-documented microcontroller.

Annoying
I've been working with the Tiva processors since they were first introduced. The Launch Pads are inexpensive evaluation boards, but the documentation is poor and the Booster Pack layout makes absolutely no intelligent sense.
