Big Agnes Three Forks Shelter Canopy Tent

One of the main reasons I wanted this sun shade was because it is light and packs up small. Easy to setup and breakdown, high quality materials in a great package. Used it mostly on the beach for sun protection so far and it does a great job doing providing shade. Easy to walk under (I'm 6'2"). Used it camping as well and kept us dry when raining. The stakes are kinda flimsy and small but for the most part do the job. However when it gets windy its better to use bigger, stronger stakes. Overall highly recommend this sun shade.

Setup is easy, preferably with two people. If you have little kids, watch out for the straps that hold the poles in tension - they can trip on them if they're not paying attention. The material is strong but somewhat thin and not as effective as blocking the sun as we'd like.

Smaller to pack than an easy-up, and provides enough shade for 4.

Nice shelter fairly easy to put up with two people one person it's a little bit difficult keeps the rain out of the kitchen in my teardrop trailer.

Three poles, easy to maneuver, even in the wind. Like the straps at the base to keep it together.

Please note, if you are looking for waterproofed shelter be aware that Big Agnes will not guarantee this feature and in case you do have a leak they may not replace your item. I just went through this process with them directly. My shelter purchased through other online retailer was leaking slowly through the black loops attached on the inside of the roof for hanging accessories during a storm. It was the first time I used this shelter and the storm lasted about an hour, no wind, just pouring rain. I noticed water slowly dripping through the loops, nowhere else. Before purchasing I checked reviews and details to make sure the material is waterproofed, it does say the seams are taped waterproofed. The online retailer offered to exchange for a new one though it was on backorder and I would have to wait 8-10 months. I contacted Big Agnes directly to see if they can help. They told me to send the shelter to their repair center for testing and evaluation. The results - they found nothing wrong with the shelter, and my best options were to send back to the original online retailer for a refund or exchange. I called BA directly to discuss the test results. Most upsetting of all this was that I was told if I would look at the description on BA website it says it is for sun and wind protection. I should not rely on the reviews and description at other websites such as amazon, rei, backcountry etc. I was also told that they can't tell in what kind of storm I was because they usually don't have waterproofing issues with this shelter. Either way they can't replace and I need to resolve with the other retailer. They also said I could send the whole shelter to Big Agnes for another evaluation to have a credit issued, but since it is used it would not be a full price. I was fortunate for the other retailer to still refund the money. I do like this shelter and I believe that it was just one defective item since I have not seen other reviews having similar issues, BUT just consider this if you have similar waterproofing issue it is apparently not under the warranty since it is mainly for sun and wind protection.

This is the perfect shelter since it will not pool water during a rain due to its design. Takes less than 10 minutes to setup. Buyer beware though. You will be paying for one accessory wall and you WILL NOT get it. We did however contact Big Agnes and they were glad to send us 2 of them. Big Agnes is a quality camping gear company. My BA tent is old and still looks like new. Amazon is not the seller here.

On the Amazon site it says it is waterproof. It definitely is not. The fabric pools water and then just begins to seep through. I am very disappointed as I definitely bought it for a rain shelter over picnic tables. Pretty expensive for just a sun shelter.
