Nissan owners having trouble with a wireless adapter for CarPlay ?
Just received this yesterday. I have a 2017 Nissan Maxima that has 2 USB ports. I wanted a wireless Apple CarPlay connection so I purchased a wireless adapter (the Carlinkit 5.0). Through research I found that you need to use both USB ports in order to get the wireless adapter to work. I also just recently purchased the AutoSky adapter for Netflix and YouTube capabilities. Same deal. Wouldn’t connect to the car unless I used both USB ports. This item was the solution and worked perfectly when I set it up yesterday. You’ll need a USB-A to USB-C adapter as well. I’ll edit this and will post a pic of the set up when I get a chance for anyone for anyone that may be having the same issue.

Wireless CarPlay adapter issues? Here’s your answer
Did you get here because you have a wireless CarPlay adapter that keeps power cycling before initializing… perhaps you have a Nissan? This will fix your problems. It provides continuous power from secondary usb port and the data/power usb port stays active, allowing it to boot up.

Works good.
I wanted all the power fed by a external source so I also bought some power blocking usb pass through. Was cheaper buying this and the blocker than just a all in one cable that blocked power from the motherboard side. Worked for me.

Bought to use for Astro A50
The gaming headset would only charge when the PlayStation was on, this little cord enabled it to charge on its own! Did exactly what we needed it to

Don't buy not worth it.
Power boost is minimal at best. The charge time on my phone at approximately 50% was:1) 6 hr 5 min with the computer USB cord2) 4 hr 52 min with this Splitter3) 50 min plugging directly into the power blockNot worth the money

This is NOT a USB splitter
This is NOT a USB splitter!! It is a power enhancer, using the power from two USB ports into one. Maybe it works for that application if I needed that but in my opinion the description does not identify it properly.
