Mont Blanc StarWalker Metal Rubber Fineliner (8856)

The reviews on this item are unfortunate, you are seeing 1 star reviews which were fakes, which is very unfortunate. I had a troublesome time buying this item, but once i got my hands on an AUTHENTIC starwalker, I realized it was all worth the trouble. I had to buy this pen more than once due to a counterfeit, but now that I have the real thing, I think I owe it to this item to add in a 5 star review.I originally had the black resin Starwalker, and while that pen was nice, it did not feel as premium as this item in metal and rubber. This pen is a lot heavier, and the weighty feel makes it seem more premium in the hand, specially when writing. Its perfectly balanced, and the feel of the rubber can't be described properly, you have to feel it for yourself. Its more of a soft touch finish. I think it is a much higher quality pen then the original black resin star walker.my only complaint is with the cap, the threading inside the cap is plastic, it was metal on the black resin starwalker. this is an issue because it is more prone to wear.everything else is great. don't hesitate to buy this pen. you might get a counterfeit but that applies to almost any item. just call them up and get a replacement.

I was so excited to get this pen. I had just passed a major milestone, and this was a self present... The pen had a good fit and finish, but due to comments listed, I wanted to confirm it was real.The lines on the barrels when closed didn't line up, but that is not generally mentioned as being a fake. However, the unique serial number NDL 33966L is not unique... google it... the clip has a fold at the end, and the real Mont Blanc is smooth, there was no "Made In Germany Pix" on the underside of the clip. It did have a genuine refill, and came with a roller ball refill in the box like the real ones. The Amazon CSR was very good about the refund, and was apologetic, and is sending internal communication about me receiving a fake.Unfortunately, I probably won't ever buy any Mont Blanc from Amazon, because I don't want to worry about getting a fake.12/17/2013 - Well, I purchased another from Amazon Warehouse, and it too turned out to be a fake. It too had the serial number NDL 33966L, and also had no writing under the clip. Amazon is not an authorized retailer, but one would think that when Amazon is selling the used item, they would ensure it was genuine. They are refunding the money, but I don't think it is right for customers to have to vet their purchases to ensure they are real.

Mont Blanc make great looking "status" pens and Stawalker is not an exception. 5*s for appearance and more fun that the dull-as-dishwater- everyone-has-one Black Meiserstuck.That said, Mont Blancs are the Range Rover of the pen world. Look great but terrible reliability for a $400+ writing instrumentFineliner refills last barely 2 weeks before they are blunted out, so if you are planning to use this is a regular pen, expect to buy new refills regularly at $8 a pop. The rubber casing on this pen begins to flake off immediately you begin using it. After about 2yrs I returned it to MB for a new barrel which cost 100$.So, great as a special occassion pen, but not really a workhorse.M

I've wanted this pen for ages. I finally built up the courage to spring for it and I can't tell you how much it has done for me.I am actually more motivated to write now that I have this and find I'm more organized. It is clearly worth it's weight in gold and I'd highly recommend it.UPDATE: Be aware of the following (really neat): when purchasing refill inks, this particular make is compatible with BOTH the Fineliner and Rollerball ink cartridges.

It is not an original mount blanc pen!In addition, I ordered the fineliner pen as it is one of the available options listed, yet I received the roller version instead!Then, I went to a mount blanc store to double check, and I learn that it is a faik!Furthermore, according to the Deceptive Trade Practices Act, companies such as yours are not allowed to deceive the public by advertising falsely. Such infringements as selling knockoffs as though they are authentic carry legal penalties up to three times the original costs, plus legal fees and attorney costs.

it was everything i was looking in a Mont Blanc pen, the quality and look of the pen was wonderful.. i got it as a gift for my son and he absolutely loved it.

I purchased the Mont Blanc. Paid immediately. Shipping was fast. Customer service was good. I asked some detailed questions about the authenticity of the pen after purchase. Customer service just told me to trust them. When I received the pen it was a fake or replica and was not authentic. I was disappointed. I immediately returned the pen at my expense. I was promptly refunded my original purchase price.
