Q: Hi, can you assemble this desk without the monitor stand?

Q: could you attach a monitor mount onto the stand? (either via clamp, or drilled through) I have a mount for two screens which is quite heavy

Hi, yes I think you could do, a lot depends upon the type of clamp and how it’s affixed to the desk. The desktop is fixed to the frame which is black metal box tubing and it’s not very wide - about 10cm maybe on each side. It’s fairly sturdy but a mount for 2 monitors has to be fairly sturdy so will be heavy before the monitors are attached. The desktop itself has a good finish and is fairly thick but again, you might need to add an extra piece under the desk if you are to drill through the top to add a bit of strength. You don’t want the mount to start moving around further down the line so doing it right initially would be key. So after all that - yes I think you can use a mount, but with a couple of caveats.
