Hiking in Norway - South: The 10 best multi-day treks: (Cicerone Trekking Guides)

Long overdue!
A long overdue update to the 1997 edition by Constance Roos. There is extremely little material in English to help you plan a trek in one of the most spectacular and accessible hiking destinations in Europe or indeed anywhere, and that single 25 year old guidebook came up very short. This sensibly only attempts to cover the south of Norway (as opposed to the whole country in the previous edition which was actually slimmer), so hopefully a northern Norway edition is now in preparation. Fingers crossed!Enticing colour photos and map reproductions are a massive improvement over the first edition. Also, despite being aimed at confident mountain walkers, it is much less blase than the first edition. For example, the description of the descent of the Bukkelaegret in Jotunheimen in the new edition is spot on, it mentions you have to descend on chains in a few places, that the route is potentially challenging/hazardous with a large backpack or in wet conditions, and that there is an easier detour if you take it at the right point. In comparison, the Constance Roos edition just says " you are aided by a railing on the steep descent"Really great job! Hoping for the Northern instalment soon!

Mostly Challenging to Very Challenging walks
A good book if you want very challenging to challenging walks but no good for me. Expected something with some less technical options. Will most likely return it.

Camminare in norvegia
Libro fatto bene, ma limitato ad alcune zone e ai trekking di più giorni.Sarebbe interessante trovare in libreria anche altri libri simili a questo che trattino di escursioni più brevi e anche in altre località
