TDS METER

Consider why you need this before buying...
I thought I'd be able to see the effectiveness of my water softener and whole house charcoal filtration systems. Nope, same readings no matter where I test in the house. Online searches confirm this doesn't provide insight into how well standard filtration equipment is working, so I have no idea what the Britta and PUR ads are trying to tell us. Maybe useful in aquariums, I don't know. For me it simply allows comparing the TDS at my house to the TDS at a friends which really doesn't matter to me. I guess if you want a tool to tell you that a R.O. system might make a difference, then this would be the one. However I'm sure we can all state a R.O. system will reduce TDS regardless of the starting point. So if you're unhappy with your tap water, buy a R.O. filter and save the cost of the TDS meter...

Works great
I tested my tap water and out of the tap it's roughly 20ppm TDS. After adding in a quarter teaspoon each of powdered calcium carbonate, magnesium citrate and sea salt into the tap water the TDS increased to 650ppm. So this seems quite accurate! Plus it tells the temperature and EC which is a nice bonus. Can't beat it for the price.

Good product!
It’s working great! I live between Maryland and Puerto Rico, and travel a lot. This is so easy to know the quality of the water I drink.

This meter is very low quality and unreliable!
First one I received had very high readings, which seemed 2 or 3 times high, I had local water authorities out with their meter and my meter had failed. I reordered and 2 one arrived this one worked better but readings still 30-50% above local water treatment government agents.

GARBAGE
This meter is completely inaccurate. Meter will give you completely different results using the same water every time you pull it out and then retest again. Also photo showed PH strips with this meter but I didn't receive any.
