For the money these are just terrificI have two now in a 12x12 saving me at least 2 expensive light fixtures and heatI love a light mover

Update: its been less than 2 months and the second one failed. I took it apart to see why it stopped traveling and piles of rubber & aluminum fell in to the floor. Basically, the auto tensioner was screwed tight and unable to move, so the rubber roller systematically ground itself to bits and then the aluminum itself ground the track until it couldnt grip and move. Of all the thousands of items ive purchased on amazon, ive never felt more ripped off than i do because of this pile of junk! I was able to return the first one that failed, but i get to eat this one! Yay.purchased 2 of these and while they seem really cheap and basic, I was really impressed at the speed and simplicity of item number 1. It works flawlessly as designed. Fr that I give it 4 stars because It's awesome. But I am only giving the overall purchase 1 star because the 2nd one works only intermittently. Unlike lots of other products, there is only a refund option which sucks because I will have to uninstall the whole thing, rails and all leaving wallowed out screw holes, risking stripped or broken screws which may mean I cannot install a replacement in the same place. I would happily send just the motor unit back if it were an option, or better yet, the vendor should just send me a replacement unit and give me the option to send back the motor without the tracks and all that jazz. what a huge disappointment and giant pain! So basically, it's one star for poor customer service on this item!

I am amazed that these light danglers are sold- but I bought one!…I take the parts and replace the rubber drive wheel with a gear and I epoxy a track to the channel in the track/I build a smallSled with inline skate wheels ( great bearings) that rides a couple of 90’ channels I suspend from the ceiling and the light attaches to that sled.The whole unit moves silently back and forth extending the lights coverage by about 20%

This thing doesn't work the engine screams. It switches back and forth whenever doesn't even touch the sensor. The sensor might as well be held up by a paperclip. You will be bending it constantly they need a motor to bend it backup to place after every switch back or this thing is completely inoperable and hope for any form of consistentcy. I returned it immediately. Save your money and time. It took weeks to get here and I ordered 6 and they all came different days. This is not prime this is trash too little too late boooooooooo
