Smooth Installation & Upgrade
Purchased this to replace the stock mobo that came with the HP I purchased a few years ago (an h8-1114) so that I could upgrade my video card (old mobo was legacy bios only - so I was stuck using nothing newer than GTX 500 series). Replacing everything (ram & cpu) just wasn't in the budget and I feel like at this time my cpu has a little life left in it for my gaming needs & my budget. When this set does need to be replaced or my budget allows I figure it will make a fantastic setup for the kids (Minecraft, Sims, etc.) making it worth the investment to have a decent mobo to go along with the hardware I already have. We'll get a lot of use out of it in the long run as a family. I may even consider upgrading the ram to the full 16 gb that this mobo supports.Installing & initial setup of this mobo went smoothly with no problems. I found the manual well written and clear. Games are running fantastic with my new GTX 960 FTW.Two things I'd like to note for potential buyers:1. It does not come with screws. So if you're considering this for a "from scratch" build where you cannot use the screws from the mobo you're replacing you will need to pick those up.2. It comes with 2 sata cables but only one is L shaped. If you plan on using this for a large video card you're almost certainly going to need two L shaped sata cables (possibly more depending on the card size and if you're using an after market cooling system) due to the location of the sata connectors on the mobo. I used two L shaped connectors at the top and my big video card fit just fine. (I have a mid-sized HAF tower so chassis room is a non-issue, but if you're using something smaller consider this as well when upgrading a video card).

This Motherboard I bought from Amazon Has Defect
I bought this motherboard from Amazon. The on-board Video ports (VGA and DVI) are not working! When I turned on the power, it beeps - one long, three short.I returned this motherboard to Amazon for a replacement. To my surprise, the replacement motherboard still had exactly the same problem. I called ASUS technical support, I waited 30 min and no live person answered my call! I left a message. A man called back and left me a message asking me to call back. I did not want to wait for 30 min on the phone! The final solution was that I bought a $31 video card from Amazon. Other than this problem, the motherboard works just fine.I have always trusted ASUS quality and always chose ASUS motherboard. But next time, I will give a 2nd thought before I make a decision.

I purchased a total of 20 of these so far, and all have worked perfectly.
I purchased a total of 20 of these boards now for simple system builds for a specific business use, all 20 of the systems were done the exact same way. 8gb of Corsair Vengeance ram, i3 processor with stock cooler, Samsung 840 SSD, and 2tb WD enterprise hard drives, and that's it besides case and power supply. These boards are not quite perfect, but pretty close for my needs. The pros are that I purchased 20 of these and not a single one had any issue at all. Not one. The boards have all the settings I needed, the memory runs at the XMP speeds, I can set it to auto power on after a power loss, and skip any errors to just boot up. Those setting are important to me as these run at remote locations and need to boot themselves in cases of power loss. They are very reliable, I've have many of these out for a year now with no issues and no failures yet. I really and truly have no major complaints at all with these boards, my minor ones are below. My biggest con is that there is not SATA 6 port on the board to get the full speed out of my SSD, but I knew that going in and it was not a big enough deal to get another board. The other issue I have is that this board is impossible for me to find easily on the ASUS web site when I'm looking for things like a new BIOS. Annoying as all get out trying to find, once I do I keep it and put them all on the same one, but there are many slight variations of the boards and only the exact right BIOS will work of course. Once found the update process is awesome, but man there has to be a better way to actually fine them in the first place! That's it, if there are any questions just ask as I've used these a lot, but I really do like them. The video also works perfectly, even if dual monitors are connected. I am very pleased with these overall and will buy them again if needed.

This motherboard is fantastic and high zero electronics is a trustworthy source to buy products
A well preserved LGA 1155 socket board, high zero electronics packaging was safe and effective for the product and it came in one piece. For those looking into older tech or if you've happened to acquire either a motherboard or CPU with this socket type, 3rd gen is still holding up well as of mid 2019. I run this board with an i5 3470, 8gb of ddr3, a 1 terabyte firecuda hybrid drive, and an rx 570. The PC is sharp and very responsive, plays games at high frame rates in 1080p on mid to high settings depending on the situation. I reccomend if possible more than 8 gigs on ddr3, 16 GB ddr3 is alot cheaper these days and you may as well drop a little extra cash to make older hardware a little more worth while. One thing you should know this motherboard does not have a USB 3.0 header. You'll have to use a pci USB 3.0 card or if you are using the front panel usb 3.0 of your case, buy an adapter to usb 2.0

Good board for the price edit 10/16: Good Board Period!
Doesn't seem to like over clocking? The board cpu monitor shows the clock to be unstable when overclocking. To be honest, I'm not sure if it is the board hardware or monitor software problem or even the processor itself. However It installed quickly and has not shown any problems except for the OCing. I'm pleased with the board overall.edit 9/20: The over clocking works just fine once you get it set up right, mine varies no more than about 10Mhz and I think that is ok. The gpu clocks at 350Mhz or 1250 mhz depending on the graphics load (It appears).edit 10/27:This MOBO with a Nivida Graphics Board is working on OSX 10.12 (Sierra). So I boot win10, OS X and Mint linux on my box Running 16Gig ram and an I5-3450S processor!
