Q: Hi, we received our stirrer this morning but there is no magnetic bar in the package. Can you let me know if you could send one? Jafar

Mine was supplied with a 35mm stirrer bar, but I also purchased a set of different length stirrer bars from Amazon for - peanuts! BCH

Q: Does anybody know how much this would cost to run in electricity, e.g. if used continously a week or so?

I use mine to prepare yeast samples for brewing purposes, therefore I would not use it continuously for a week or so. The original PSU was rubbish, but I replaced with a better quality unit and the Stirrer has been working fine since. There are no electrical details specified on the outside of the stirrer casing, but the PSU is rated at 9V, 700mA, providing 6W max. - say 5W max. operating power. Maximum consumption over 24hr will therefore be 120Wh (assuming the unit is rated for continuous operation). I have operated the unit for up to 3 days without any signs of overheating at the unit or the PSU. Running cost at 32.79p per kWh? I make it approx. 4p/day! BCH

I only got the magnetic stirrer with magnets, no glass jug.

Q: Will this work with a mason jar. Some don't as the jars have a concave bottom.

This will work with any flat bottoms. Not recommended for curved bottoms because the stirring capsule will not be able to balance itself.
