No; to my knowledge, they’re intended for the storage of baked goods like cookies.

are they airtight and safe for brandy or liquor based cakes ?

These have the slip-on lids, so we can't guarantee airtight. You would only get airtight with plastic containers or a gasket style top. I would suggest doing an individual bag inside or wrapping in waxed paper and taping for packaging a cake for shipping or gifting. Becky for Decorae

These tins do not provide an airtight seal. In order for them to do well in the freezer we suggest you put the cookies in a freezer bag, wrap with saran wrap, or individually wrap the cookies before putting them in the container otherwise moisture could seep in. -Lisa for Decorae

How many cookies does one tin hold?

Depends on the cookie size. I make chocolate chip cookies (2-2.5 inches in diameter) and am able to make three layers of seven cookies each, so about 20 cookies total.
