Very fast grower!
The Golden Oysters took off very quickly. Within a month I was getting ready to harvest.I used 4ml on 1 pint of rye berries and put the remainder into some honey liquid culture. Both the rye and the liquid culture took off very fast!I made 5lb masters mix bags and inoculated them with 1 pint of spawn, and they took off again!Once fully colonized and starting to pin I moved them to the fruiting chamber and growth stopped.. My incubation area is ~70f and my fruiting chamber is ~61f so I moved it back to my incubation area and they started to grow like gangbusters but I had to sprayed them with water multiple times a day.Great flavor and really prolific grower. I recommend the Golden Oysters and the Lions Mane but that is another review.70f but when I moved them into the fruiting chamber where the temp was 60f growth slowed significantly.

2 months and several attempts later, still 0 fruiting bodies
So, first of all, this is definitely *some* kind of mycelium. The growth of it on a petri dish is consistent with what you'd expect from oyster mushrooms. It looks like oyster mushrooms on a fruiting block. It has the right consistency, color, smell, metabolites. But it refuses to actually fruit. I've had 26 attempted grow bags of these guys, not one has fruited. First couple of batches I made mistakes, I was still learning, so I kept trying. I did 9 on pasteurized hardwood sawdust, 4 on experimental mixes, and the rest on master's mix. I've got a handful still in the fruiting chamber, they've been ready to fruit for over a week but no actual fruits. I just harvested some pearl oysters on the 29th, they were inoculated at the same time as several of these golden oyster bags and even put into the fruiting chamber at the same time (the speed on these goldens for colonization really isn't bad, if only they actually produced), they fruited and were ready to harvest without even a single fruit from the golden batch. My temps sit comfortably in my grow area at 65-70f, my fruiting chamber is kept constantly within 85%-90% RH, the FAE is adequate. My ability to fruit oysters is proven. These genetics are duds, I cannot recommend.

Good Quality For The Price
Mycelium grows fast in properly prepared whole oats inoculation bag. Then the golden oysters shrooms thrived when transferred to pasteurized aspen wood pet bed shavings in five gallon bucket drilled with 1/4" holes.

Great liquid culture!
These gold oysters grow great, no contamination. I grow them in rice and transfer to straw. They form nice fruits, just make sure they're getting enough fresh air!

Beautiful golden oysters!
Great strain, and no complaints. Golden oysters are not the best of mushrooms for multiple returns, at least as I have found. These seem be be top notch though. Bright color, which does not fade when drying. Can compensate for fresh shelf life by drying them. Adds great color to mushroom mixes. I find they taste better when dried and rehydrated. Great in stir fries. Overall, good strain! Not dissapointed.

Bad genetics
very small fruiting bodies which are constantly aborting, even small flushes. several weeks in the chamber after colonizing and very poor results
