ESV Study Bible, Personal Size (Paperback): Holy Bible, English Standard Version Paperback – January 31, 2012

This is a great Bible to explain the verses. I sometimes had to go to the internet for explanations, but with this Bible you have an explanation at the bottom of each page. The only thing that bothers me is when I carry it to church, it is heavy so I carry a smaller Bible. I would not trade it for another one.

This is a wonderful study bible that’s helping me dig deeper into God’s word.

This Bible has helped me study and grow deeper in my understanding of God's Word. This translation makes it clear and concise as to what the text says and what it means in context. My favorite thing about this study Bible is the pictures/diagrams/maps. This helps visualize and put the words into a historical context!I absolutely love it!yes the text is small and the paper is thin...I wear reading glasses and don't have a problem reading this in dark light, sunlight, black light, you name it. Perfect Print!

I love this Bible and the usefulness of the footnotes. It is full of great information and has many colorful maps. I like the cross reference feature so I can find similar verses and all the places within the Bible that a specific item is referenced. I feel that I am gaining a better understanding of God's word by using this Bible. This is the only study Bible I've ever owned, so I'm not able to compare it to other study Bibles However I did ask several people for a study Bible recommendation and this is what was most recommended to me. I would also recommend it. One thing to note is that this is a very large book due to the volume of additional information that is contained within it, so I would have a second Bible to use for going to church and have this at home for study.

The ESV has shown itselt to be an excellent translation of God's Word. Some passages may be less "flowery" than other translations and, in my opinion, written at a higher reading level. For example, "transient" is used in 2 Corinthians 4:18 instead of "temporal" in the KJV, and "temporary" in the NKJV and NIV and most others. "Transient" is more accurate as it means brief and passing away, but may be harder for some readers to understand.The most pleasant part of purchasing this Bible was the free access it granted to the online ESV. This is a superb website that makes searching the Bible quick and easy. There are many free resources here, and more they'd like to sell you.If I had it to do over again, I should have sprung for a larger print version instead of the Personal Size. The foot notes are in very small type and the paper is thin enough as to cause print on the opposite of the page to make reading the footnotes somewhat difficult. Disregard this if you do not need glasses to read.

Writing is too small

The listed dimensions were actually accurate for once. Amazon has a problem with that topic, with Bibles particularly. It is indeed the "personal size", in perfect condition, shrink wrapped even, which prevented damage during shipment. This Bible is excellent with information and study notes. I wish they had the hardcover version available, but this will suffice. An excellent study resource. I wish I had a csb study Bible this size.

Very thorough study bible. Delicate pages as to be expected with ESV but content is not lacking.
