Get the second coat on while first coat is damp.
Great stuff! Applied to our bare pine ranch table and benches. It goes a long way and the finish is nice, showing the wood grain and color, though slightly milky. You wouldn't know it if I didn't tell you. I light sanded the wood, vacuumed and wiped down with a wet tack cloth. The sealant goes on easily with a brush and a little goes a long way. Didn't use 1/2 gallon to cover a 120" x 40' table and two 108" x 16" benches, top, bottom and legs with two coats! It did require two people to get the second coat down (instructions said to apply second coat when first is damp), as in the Arizona heat, it was drying pretty fast. The ranch table is out on the covered patio and now I can wipe the dust off in minutes. I'm very please with this product.

Absolutely gorgeous color!
I had read the mixed reviews but was still wanting to give this a shot and I’m so glad I did. I’m still staining my ironwood boards but the look is phenomenal. I’ll certainly add some more photos after it’s fully dry but even if it lightens up considerably, I’m still super happy with it.A few things to note:1) I’ve been mixing it often (keeping the mixer on hand just to make sure the color stays even).2) my ironwood was really dry. I washed it with the nano wash (day 1) and then did a thorough water-only wash the following day. I let it sit for a week…3) I’ve got 24 ten-foot board (6” boards) so 120 sq feet per side plus the edges which is maybe 250 sq feet. I was able to coat all of it with one gallon and I also used a bit on some small old benches but I used that entire gallon! So, as others have mentioned, I think 250-300 sq feet per gallon is closer to realistic! I bought two gallons but I’m going to do a touch up coat and finish the small benches as well. I highly recommend this product, it’s just thick and my wood has really soaked it up!The color of bronze cedar is gorgeous!Photos: wood drying in paint rack setup (highly recommend), stained board next to unstained board on (plastic) horses, stained boards drying on rack system (on ground) with boards left to stain in the background! A before / after of the small benches (note: no spray paint was used; those were my weights to hold down the plastic bags).I’ll try to post an update once this has fully dried and the gate is back in place as well as an update after 6 months. I have very high hopes for this product.

Good quality marine varnish.
The varnish looks to be very good quality [we will know after a winter or two]. Goes on easily, yet washes out of the paint brush. My only reservation is that it seems to take a long time to cure. Two days after application, and it still seems a little sticky.

The ultimate test-
I purchased this sealer for a landscaping project. Delivered quickly, well packaged and intact. I have multiple 8"x8"x12' northern yellow pine timbers that i stained with dark walnut. They are rough cut and I chose not to sand them.I allowed the stain to fully dry and preformed the entire operation in the garage out of the sun and elements. Two generous coats are important for this sealer. Also it must be above 50°, which lengthened the process due to Ohio's weather mood swings. In the pale, the product is a solid white tint and thin as water. Give her an enthusiastic shake before opening. I applied with a 3" standard brush. No other products used besides minwax stain. Must be clean fresh surface for appropriate adhesion. Sand old finishes off. Goes on white and is easy to see missed spots. Being rough cut timber, it took a little more product to fully saturate. On a smooth sanded surface a little goes quite a long way. I have a photo to show drying stages- fresh coat, about 15mins dry time, and after about 30mins.At 30mins apply your second coat, just as heavy as the first. It's easy to work with. A little messy- don't be shy with it, but it covers great.Drys totally matte, no gloss at all. Looks just like they did with only stain which is just what I wanted.I have a second photo showing our first rain with them on the ground. I waited about a day for sealer to dry before laying them down. The water beads on top which is an excellent sign. I'm hopeful to at least get a few years out of this product before needing refinished. Most important to note ... These beams are laid over gravel and sand with drainage tile underneath, however they still are on the ground, exposed to moisture and in direct sun. This is really the ultimate test for a product like this.If this sealer can survive being exposed all day everyday I don't think there is a project it cant handle.I will update in about a year with photos and hopefully a success story.

Terrible consistency and only 1 of 3 gallons was right!
I've ordered 3 gallons so far. I'm using this to stain the wood deck of a utility trailer. The first gallon was perfect, pitch black and very stain like in terms of consistency. It poured out like water and turned the wood completely black which is what I bought it to do. After realizing I needed more to do a second and even a third coat, I ordered another gallon. This gallon was a much thicker consistency and appeared to be a bluish gray. It had the consistency of paint vs stain. It also did not apply dark at all, and had a gray tint which eventually turned into a dark gray stain. I thought this might just be a bad gallon. I ordered a second gallon which arrived today. The package was crushed and stain was leaking out all over the concrete. The Amazon driver clearly took a picture from an angle of the box that showed no damage. So about 1/4 of the gallon was lost due to leakage. I could instantly tell that the consistency in color was the same as the second gallon I purchased. It's gray blue and very thick compared to the first gallon. I'm very frustrated that I have a trailer taken apart that I can't finish until I get a gallon that is mixed correctly.

Sealed up my equipment trailer deck
Used this on my equipment trailer decking, used a hand pump pesticide sprayer to apply and it came out great, great way to preserve the woodI took the time and sanded the deck but you don't really have to, but I think it was worth the time to do itAnd its not slick when it gets wet
