KONG - Naturals Catnip Spray for Cats - 1 Ounce

Cats give this 10 out of 5 stars. Two of my three spoiled, older cats love catnip in general, and Kong Naturals Catnip Spray in particular. (The third cat is very straight edge, does not get what all the fuse is about.) Aside from my cats loving it, I like Kong Naturals because the only ingredients are catnip oil and distilled water and it is made in the U.S. I am not opposed to imports, but I do want what I give my pets regulated and safe so I take extra precautions. It is a small bottle, but it is potent so a very little goes a long way so the value is fine. It lasts roughly a month and a half to two months. The spray is good because it is considerably less messy than loose leaf catnip that my cats (very adorably) roll around and coat themselves in, then get it all over the carpet, sofa, bed...I put a couple squirts of the Kong Catnip Spray on my cat's stuffed animal, and that is all she needs for the night. I usually only give catnip to my cats once/day, roughly every other day, because 1) they don't need to be high all the time (too much catnip can actually make cats aggressive) and 2) when I give it too them too often, they loose interest. Too much of anything gets boring.

My cat Fifi goes crazy for catnip, and this KONG catnip spray has been my liquid catnip product of choice for years! It may seem expensive for such a tiny bottle, but you have to remember that herbal extracts require many pounds of herb per ounce of fluid extracted... thus increasing the price. KONG's catnip spray is super concentrated, which is a big part of why I love this product so much. (No joke, be careful how much you spray in an enclosed space, or be ready to smell it for 10-15 minutes!) I only have to spray it on one of Fifi's toys a couple of times for her to enter her crazy-for-catnip mindset. It's absolutely hilarious to watch! If your kitty loves catnip, then definitely give this product a try! It's a great way to peak your cat's interest in other toys that don't contain catnip, or even to encourage your cat to use a cat tree or scratching post. All in all, it's a great tool for both play and teaching!

I spray her cat toy with this product once a week. She enjoys it for a few hours then ignores it. I find I get better results if I do not over do it. In my opinion real fresh catnip works much better.

purchased this on 12/28/14 from Amazon LLC for $4.99 as an add-on item. didn't review it right away because my cat showed no reaction to it. it seemed strong enough, and there are cats, i have read, that don't respond to catnip, which isn't the fault of the catnip. i'm writing a review now because i decided to try once again, and although she shirked the scent when in the presence of the spray, she ended up spending a lot of time chewing and licking on the toy i had sprayed the catnip on. so i sprayed it on another toy, dumbly in her presence, so she got some strong whiffs. same reaction. from now on, i will spritz the catnip on toys far away from her and leave them out for her to find. i do a lot with oils and natural products. my sense is that this is a quality product and i am happy to experiment with it.

Bought this in April 2018. It thrilled our older cat. After about a year the sprayer stopped working, even after cleaning the inside. The bottle was about half full and I don't use it much because I have to try to pour it down the side of the vertical scratching posts. This product is very good, the plastic bottle is sturdy, but the sprayer is poorly made.

I spray this product on my cat's favorite Items such as his bed, toys & scratching pads, I like the fact that this product comes in a easy to use spray bottle so there is no need to worry about cat nip chips spilling all over the floor that means no clean up necessary, you just shake & spray a light mist on kitty's items & let him or her have funMy cat likes this product a lot he behaves around the scent just as he would regular cat nip chips or powder. tips don't leave the bottle laying around where kitty can get it, also be careful not to spray it near or on your nice furniture because if your kitty likes the product as mine does he will go to town & ruin your furnitureLast notes this product is great, it's easy to use & the scent seems very effective though every cat reacts to cat nip differnently some cats might prefer chips or poweder instead, but I think this product is well worth buying you won't know for sure unless you give it a shot.
