Mushroom Liquid Culture - Chestnut (Pholiota adiposa)

I inoculated a grain bag and a nagar plate. The bag took off like wildfire at 79 degrees F and seemed to stall a little, so tried 73 degrees for a few days (removed from temp controlled spawn box) then mixed the bag, and the mycelium is rapidly completing colonization of the bag. The agar plate was pristine, as is the second generation agar plate. ( I use a still air box for transfers.) I’ll be fruiting this block in the future, but thus far I can attest to the quality/purity of the syringe that I bought. Highly recommend.

You can tell immediately that this is a genetically strong liquid culture. It took about 3 weeks to fully colonize my grain. I spawned it to bulk , and it took under a week to fully colonize and it’s ready to pin! I know where I’ll be buying all my LC from until I start making my own.

It spread on my grain quickly. Excited to get it on some substrate and see how it turns out.

This culture was DOA - complete waste of time and money.
