It gives a very insightful and accurate view of American medicine from the viewpoint of a doctor, who has thoughtfully presented a picture of the challenges that a doctor faces in trying to deliver the best care to patients, while attempting to avoid burn out. American medical doctors face odds that compromise their ability to balance family time, mental health, and patient care.

This book is an excellent summary of what ails American healthcare today. I ordered it and read it in just a few days. It is easy to get through and explains the shortcomings of modern healthcare in easy-to-understand terms that will be good for non-physicians to follow. It gives great insights to how healthcare was, should be, and how it has morphed into the monstrosity it is today. Physicians also will completely agree with what is being conveyed here.
