The Pippi Longstocking Collection [Blu-ray]

Great collection

Everything was fine and dandy!

These bluray discs are AMAZING! I can't believe how good they look, espcially Pippi in the South Seas and Pippi on the Run (because they are in 1:78 aspect ratio and fit the entire screen perfectly.They look and sound wonderful. I do see a few differences from how they aired on TV in the 80s, one being the Opening to Pippi on the Run where Pippi is riding Old Man Horse in slow motion as she approaches the house that's on fire.I'd also like to add that these films are also on Amazon Digital to purchase and stream! I didn't see that!Definitely buy these without any hesitation! My 5 year old LOVES these movies, too!

This is a great kid friendly movie. If you own a day care this is a good movie to put on.

The blue ray was great color on all four disks

i bought it as a gift for my son and he said it is excellent quality just like he remembers it when he was growing up. the high def is good quality.

Everything was exactly what I ordered. I'm very pleased.

Mostly intact. These were advertised as remastered but with original dialogue etc and they were...mostly. I'll admit that I don't know exactly what remastering involves but I'd have been satisfied with higher resolution and maybe a little color enhancement. However, someone decided these old classics needed new titles. To accomplish this they simply cut the opening scenes that included the old titles. Although there was no missing dialogue, there is footage missing none the less. Ex. in Pippi on the Run, the title scene included Pippi riding at a gallop atop her horse at sunset. No more. Err. The scratchy old titles and the footage that accompanied them were as much a part of the charm of these films as the silly overdubs and whatever else you liked about these movies. Adding insult to injury the font chosen for the new bits is...well lame. This will probably seem picky to most but I wanted to put it out there.Having said that the unaltered portions look and sound as remembered and are still enjoyable.
