How to Step By Step
See the review I just wrote for this in Magenta- this line of color, in a general search I did, is suggested if you have very dark but greying w some or mostly grey hair! I studied how to do this from every angle after being told there are no permanent Fashion colors for grey/dark hair, & though I forgot to say in that review is that the developer I got (bc I think I said Silk) is actually Silk Oxide; also forgot to say that some weeks (I refresh my roots every week bc my hair grows FAST!) I only use Wella Color Charm in either Fresa or just RED (w NO DEVELOPER!) and that oughta covers your roots, also, for another week if you don’t wash it- or only wash w Clenditioner Red! See the other review though! All the photos are RECENT- the last one was taken just last night and it has been months since I dyed my whole entire head- I’ve been doing the roots only routine! The color from last night is the MAGENTA but I have had the RED too and it comes out about the same!

It’s an awesome hair dye
This hair dye is really good, I have it in the shade garnet and it’s been dyed for months and has barely faded, I recommend.

I did have a zero star option
I have been using this same color same developer for over 10 years with the same results. This one box that I got must have been expired cos it did nothing … I mean no color u can see some changes in my hair from the color developer but that’s it. Very disappointed.

Cayenne provides a gorgeous orange-based red
As you might expect with a name like Cayenne, this color turned into a nice orange-based red on my medium brown hair. I used a 20 volume developer with it, mixed as instructed, and applied for the time specified in the directions.Things I loved:1. The color works well with my (fair) skin tone.2. The instructions were easy to follow.3. The cream came out of the tube easily and mixed well with the developer.4. The mixture covered my shoulder-length hair with extra to spare. (If you have hair well below the shoulders, I'd buy two tubes to ensure even coverage.)5. The consistency of the mixture wasn't too drippy and wasn't too thick, which made it easy to work through the strands.Things to be aware of:1. It does have a chemical smell, which isn't uncommon among permanent color solutions.2. You definitely need to have your own developer on hand for this. It's best to use their recommended developer, but the Wella brand developer I had on hand also worked nicely.3. I'd also recommend having a mixing bowl for hair dyes (no metal), an applicator brush, and gloves.4. It can stain your skin, but it's not as bad as some other permanent colors I've used.In short, if you want hair the color of a richly orange-red sunset, give this one a try!

You MUST purchase developer creme separately
I have yet to use the product so I technically can't confirm or deny it's outcome of use, which I'm sure will AT LEAST be fine, and at most, great. I gave it 3 stars because I am annoyed that NOWHERE on the page to purchase mentions you MUST purchase separate developing creme.I found it weird that there was only a color tube, but thought that was just how you used the product because it made no mention of any other purchase necessary. Luckily I read the packaging once it came and you CAN'T use this without developer because then the color won't take and it'll be a waste, be patchy and fade quickly. So now I have to walk around to the store with greasy hair for an extra day (lol color takes better on unwashed hair) because I STILL have to buy a boxed dye to get some developer. Boo. Can't wait to use it though.
