Good Spend-Down Advice for Early Retirees
The author has a great personal story. I also read the fiction book she co-wrote, Little Miss Evil. Very funny and clever writer! Although I don't agree that college students should pursue a career they don't necessarily like just to make the most money possible early in their lives so they can then escape the crummy job/rat race, I found the financial advice in this book very helpful and practical. I particularly appreciate the advice for after you have saved a lot of money and can quit your job. (For some reason, it's hard to find that information. Most books focus on the saving phase.) I've met a lot of people that pursue careers and promotions just for the money and hate their lives. IMO, they also tend to be mediocre/dispassionate/sometimes mean-spirited at their jobs. I don't think that it's necessary to grind and be miserable like that. I pursued a career in the Liberal Arts that I loved but that didn't promise a lot of money. I had some modest student loans to pay off. While there were some lean years at first (particularly in grad school and for a year or two after my PhD) and the career has not been a straight line, the salary has gone way up and I've saved enough to retire early. The trick is to make a decent living while doing something you enjoy and saving as much as you can. Good luck everyone!

Fantastic Personal Finance Read!
I've been a long-time fan of the financial independence retire-early movement. I've read lots of books on personal finance, most of which were written by a white, American males. These books have been great, but at times doesn’t reflect my reality. So as a Canadian female, it's been refreshing to read a personal finance book written by Kristy and Bryce a Chinese Canadian couple. They detailed their journey and outlined components of their personal finance journey in easy-to-understand way. I’ve listened to them on podcasts and follow them on their millennial revolution website. I highly recommend this book for anyone who is interested in this topic.

The book arrived in great condition. There is a WEALTH of knowledge in this book, literally! Kristy's personal experience and practical, down to Earth approach on the psychology of money, tactics of growing personal finances and going against the grain of society to travel the world instead of a 9-5 job are absolutely amazing! The principles in this book are simple and straight-forward, which makes it accessible to any reader of any financial literacy level. I HIGHLY recommend this book to anyone who wants to take control of their personal finances and become financially independent. 5 STARS
