Q: Does it have grips on the bottom to stop it from sliding around?

No. But I feel once my child's weight is on it, the potty chair does not slide around.

Q: Does the bowl lock in place? I don't want it coming out until I want it to where most now days just rest in place and easily fall out.

It just rests in place. It doesn't go anywhere unless you flip it on the side or upside down or unless your child removes it.

Q: Why so expensive? Found this way cheaper another store!!
