This piece is not for pvc pipe. It works with another connector specifically for camper, motor home etc sewer systems

The Valterra T1029-2 is a 3" Bayonet x 3" Hub Adapter. The hub is a female, made to glue over 3" ABS pipe. The dimensions of the Hub are: ID 3.500" and the OD is 3.950".

Q: Can you glue this to a standard 3" pvc/abs pipe, or is it a special fitting?

Direct Connect. 3" ABS pipe. Just Git er Done.

Q: Reading through the other questions, is that Schedule 40 PVC or Thinwall?

Either will fit, this piece is not schedule 40.
