MAKE UP FOR EVER HD Microperfecting Primer 1 Green

I bought the green one to tone down my ruddy skin. This, however; does absolutely nothing. It smells clean but that's it. In fact, when I put my foundation on over it, it still settles in my pores.

Got this at Sephora and the makeup artist cautioned me that if I use this over my entire face I end up with a green cast to my skin - and he is so right! I can use the green from Physician's Formula without getting that cast, but Make Up For Ever is just too dark a green. I use it just on the red portions of my face and that is okay but I am not impressed, and when I used it over some dark red bruising, it made the bruises look even darker. I don't have any trouble with the applicator, as I am very careful at pressing down as I've practiced so I get just the right amount (almost none) each time (I hold the bottle with both hands, I don't leave it sitting on a counter or table when I press the plunger).To those having trouble getting it to cover your pores - apply with your fingers, not with a brush. The brush will pull the product out of your pores, while your fingers will leave it in.

This product evens out my skintone and helps my makeup stay on all day. I bought the green one for evening out any redness in my fair skin. However, the dispenser sticks and then sprays out product all over my bathroom sink, marble vanity, and bathroom mirror. It has been very frustrating and a great disappointment. I live quite a ways from the closest store and usually am nowhere near it, nor do I feel like paying shipping back to Sephora (I did buy it from a store in Minnesota and not from this seller). I have to discard a fair amount of what comes out in one pump so my skin doesn't look green through my makeup, when it does come out. Looking for a similar product from another company.

I've long been a fan of Make Up For Ever and I pinned high hopes on this primer. The moment I tried to squeeze a tiny bit of it, I had green liquid all over my hands, clothes, not to mention the mirror. It was like a volcano! When I put it on my face, it did absolutely nothing. There was no moisturizing effect or the usual glow many primers give you. Most of all, it did nothing for my rosacea-prone skin. Later on I put on Smashbox Green Primer and the effect was the opposite. Nice, perfect, smooth skin.I say - this product needs more work before it can even compete with Smashbox.

I did not notice any difference in the appearance of my skin or my foundation looking smoother while using this product. I tried applying it with my fingers and a sponge, yet the results were the same. As mentioned in other reviews, it did have a pleasant smell and was easy to apply, but, for the price I would rather stay with my $7 primer.

They look so pretty and smell so nice. And that's where it ends. I bought the green one and the blue one. Both did absolutely NOTHING but make my makeup greasy. I tried adjusting the amount...same result. It covers nothing, my skin is just as bumpy with this as without. At least with no primer I'm not a grease ball. I do NOT recommend this product.

My makeup goes on smoothly and stays all day as long as I use this primer (I use yellow). If I'm going to be taking photographs or going to an event, I always, always use this. Especially with flash photography, you will need this. I can tell the difference from my photos whether or not I used primer that day simply by how great my skin and makeup look. I don't use it every day because otherwise I break out. I love that there are different tints to complement your skin tone and even travel sizes. A little goes a long way. My only problem is that the squirt top dispenses more than I need so some go to waste. What I've ended up doing is unscrewing the top and just scooping out enough to use for that day.
