Absolutely fine for fire rope attachment on my log burner doors.

Easy to use.
Easy to use and definitely black. Not sure about adhesion though as first attempt did come unstuck.

Works Perfectly
This product worked perfectly for me in replacing the burned-out rope in my Woolly Mammoth stove.I’ve read other reviews and can only conclude that those people who didn’t get great results may not have followed the instructions to the letter. That’s important. It was a messy and unpleasant job, but the results were great. Surfaces need to be perfectly clean and all traces of previous rope and adhesive removed. That’s not easy, and it took me at least 40 minutes to do that properly. I needed to use a mask and goggles. Then, the liquid is quite runny, but it’s supposed to be. You can’t do the job with the door in place - it must be removed and laid flat. It requires at least 15 minutes, preferably with weight on it, to cure the adhesive to the point that the door can be replaced; after that the heat of the fire will finish the curing process. It’s not easy to use - but no other product is. The question is, if you’re doing this yourself, is will you put the effort in to get it right?

Tricky to use
My pot was fairly thin and drippy to apply despite vigorous shaking. However it adheres well on drying with heat from the stove.

Instructions Hard to Follow
1. Instructions in small print on the bottle itself. Need a light and a magnifying glass to read! 2. Shook the bottle and tried squeezing into the groove in the stove door. The liquid ran out ok but you cannot spread it in the groove easily through the quite fat nozzle so I spread it with a bit of twig and pressed the rope in hard with my thumb. 3. After 15 minutes I closed the door. Not clear whether I could light the fire now without further waiting but reckoned it ok. An hour later it all seems good. Hope it stays that way!
