Great Product
I’m new to Pro-press fittings but used this tool and got the fittings at Menards and replaced many valves and installed a new water softener. This beats sweating joints any day! If you read about the press fittings they are warranted for 50 years. Great new technology considering not many people can sweat copper these days.Tool was really easy to use. Certainly it took a good bit of force to crimp the fittings (and I’m a pretty big guy) so make sure to extend the handles to get the most leverage you can. Also in many cases you need an extra hand to hold the fitting in the right place while you crimp. If you can crimp most of your fittings on the floor and then put it in place where you need to put it, that saves time. Highly recommend this tool and the pro-press technology!

Cost effective entry into crimp fittings with some minor flaws
It seems to work very well for the a low cost of entry. Although bulky with some careful maneuvering you can fit it into a stud wall with a 3"X5" opening in the drywall. I managed to replace the drop ear of a shower with a single opening on the back side of a wall. The manual is lacking but most is fairly self explanatory. On my unit it was calibrated from the factory so the dials on the handle of the unit were at the correct distance. It appears both sets of numbers on each dial have the same amount of adjustment so turning to either number has the same result. Force is needed to close the dies when properly adjusted without a fitting. A good crimp requires about the same force as cutting a medium sized bolt with an equivalent sized pair of cutters.Overall this unit has some flaws but when next best options is ten times more expensive this product clearly fills a need and I would reccomend it.

Great tool for the price
Freshly installed new water heater and wanted to use the propress fittings. This made it easy without having to buy a $1k plus tool. Would definitely recommend.

Does not do tees!!! STILL GOOD THOUGH!!
Way cheaper than hydraulic pro press tool. I used viega fittings only, had no issues or leaks. I found out I could not press any tees of any size. The clamping mechanism is too big to allow for the tight spaces of tees, sadly. They should tell you that. Still think the tool is dynamite and way more cost effective than a hydraulic tool.

Too beastly
This is a big, heavy, cumbersome tool. Very awkward to use and get into tight places. Needs lots of clearance. If you mess up a joint, you have to throw it out and buy another fitting. I gave up on it and went back to Sharkbite joints for my small jobs. They’re more expensive, but you can put them on, take them back off, if needed, and they never have failed for me. For pro users doing lots of joints, bite the bullet and get a Milwaukee or Dewalt battery powered pro-press crimper.

Works Great on 1" Pipe
Works Great on 1" Pipe. Just make sure you have enough clearance for the handles and you're good. Thank you China.
